Re: Samsung LCD TV LN46C630 wont turn on
Turns out my local repair place will order parts at no surcharge, so I just bought a new power supply through them for quite a decent price. Just don't have the time right now to do all the testing needed to fix the old one. In about a month I'll end up with a lot of extra time, maybe I'll try to fix the board then and see if I can sell it or something (or hold on to it as a backup).
Anyway installed a new board and everything works fine. Thanks for the help.

That's just a bad photo angle. Its the white putty stuff used to keep everything in place, from that angle makes it look like a hole in it.

Re: Samsung LCD TV LN46C630 wont turn on
I did see that there were a number of threads talking about it, lots of them seemed to have picture and/or sound just with no backlight, while mine had no picture or sound at all, so it didn't seem like they would be super helpful (I did read a number of them though).

Re: Samsung LCD TV LN46C630 wont turn on
Unfortunately it seems that shopjimmy is out of stock on these boards right now, I have no idea what their typical restock time for older parts is.

If I can find an entire board that is still way cheaper then using any local repair shop (something...

Re: Samsung LCD TV LN46C630 wont turn on
The P/N is the same, BN44-00341B. I do have soldering tools and I thought I had a multimeter with them which is why I'm confused as to where that is.
Here are the closer images.

Samsung LCD TV LN46C630 wont turn on
A few weeks ago my TV made a loud pop while we were watching it and turned off (and wont turn back on). I haven't had time to look into it until the last few days, that's why I waited until now.
The pop sound made me think it was a capacitor (and some internet searches seemed to imply that was a common issue) but I've looked over it multiple times and none of the capacitors seem to be blown.
I follow the steps in this thread (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28593) but when I disconnected the main board from the power supply and plugged in...
