    Re: Lenovo T440 strange BIOS lock

    My ideas up to now what HD3P could be:

    1) the SIM card for the WWAN which i forgot to remove because i did not expect one to be there (??? have to check again) with User PWD = PIN and Master PWD = PUK (crazy idea...)

    2) the hard drive in a docking station (were there ever docking stations with integrated drives for this model made by Lenovo? I don't think so)
    (But why then does the PWD persist if the disk is removed?)

    3) Some SD card which is not inserted but a faulty switch in the slot indicates to the...

    Lenovo T440 strange BIOS lock

    Hi everybody,

    i have a Lenovo Thinkpad T440 (VIVLO NM-A102 main board) with a strange BIOS lock.
    It looks like a HD3P (hard drive 3 password) with User+Master password set, except for the "3" where "1" is normal.
    But there is no third hard drive at all, there is not even a bay for a second one on this model and this prompt appears even with no hard drive installed at all.
    After bypassing the finger print input when booting, the following prompt appears:

    First attachement HD3P: without pressing «F1»
    Second attachement MasterHD3P:...

    Hello Gripen,

    your statement is not fully true. To be more precise:
    There are 8 MB BIOSes AND 16 MB BIOSes on T440 models:

    Check this:

    8MB:

    LenovoThinkPad T440 NM-A102.rar

    i have one myself in a Winbond W25Q64FVSIQ chip (VIVLO NM-A102 Rev 1.0 board) where "64" means 64 MBit which equals 8MByte.

    By the way lenovo_autopatcher can handle both, i...

    Hi,

    please do not send PM as this information could be valuable for everyone.

    Q950 = AP2764AI 650V 9A 1.1Ohm MOSFET Advanced Power Electronics Corp.
    U950 or U930 (not sure because there is a via hole in the "3" or "5" = LD7575 PWM controller chip Leadtrend Tech. Corp.

    Both are for the for video board supply (CN851, 5V, 12V)

    Thank you

  • Re: No Power Dell U2410 Monitor

    This thread is still alive after more than 3 years! I finally managed to repair my Dell U2410f. Sweet victory

    In short, the parts i had to replace:

    FR851 fusible resistor 0.2 Ohms
    Q853 power transistor STF15NM60N
    U850 PFC / DC DC combination chip SG6901
    U930 L7575 DC DC converter chip
    D856 1N5406
    Q953 MMBT2907

    I started a long time ago to repair my U2410f and finally succeeded, so i may be not 100% correct in what i say but here is my story. ...

    Hi all,

    half an hour later it seems i have found what i am looking for :-) :

    Q853 = F15NM60N (ST = SGS-Thomson) N-channel 600V - 0.27Ω - 14A - FDmesh™ II Power MOSFET D2PAK, I2PAK, TO-220, TO-220FP, TO-247

    check here:

    there is no direct reference but post #16 suggests

    FR851 = 0.2 Ohms fusible resistor (2-3 Watts i think...)

    BIG THANKS to WASMUNDT !!Re: Dell U2410f: Q853 and FR851

  • Re: Dell U2410f: Q853 and FR851

    Hi all,

    could some kind person please tell me and ficobel what values

    FR851 and Q853 have?

    Hampus has measured ~1Ohm for FR851 but i haven't found any info about Q853.

    I have a Dell U2410f with broken Q853 and FR851, no way to read anything on them as they are exploded/burned completely.

    There is a good chance that there is no other problem with my monitor and i could help you with measurement values from a working set after repair!

    So please help, thanks!
