Re: Westinghouse DW50F1y1 - wont turn on, eeprom?
Well, I answered my own question. I ordered the eeprom chip from Shop Jimmy and changed it. It was $15, worth the risk to me. It fixed the problem and the TV works great.

Westinghouse DW50F1y1 - wont turn on, eeprom?
Hello,
I have a Westinghouse DWF1Y1 that wont turn on...... sorta.
If I follow a procedure I found on the web to "reset" the tv (holding down certain buttons while unplugging and plugging in) The tv will come on and function properly, until its turned off. Then it wont turn back on again until I follow that same process. It has a solid red light, it will blink when hitting any key on the remote.
I am guessing this may be the eeprom. I have no experience with them, but seems logical. is this something that can be reprogrammed or does it need to be replaced....

Race car guy needs help with capacitor! :)
Hi! First I want to say what a great site this is. I have been on here many times and was able to find answers without bothering anyone. So, our tv in our race trailer started acting up (shutting off) and now turns on but shuts right back off. Its a OLD Insingia junker # NS-LTDVD26....but it serves us will reviewing our previous runs in the trailer.
So, I've done a bunch of reading, and I have to admit I am kind of lost when it comes to this stuff, but I think I have found atleast part of the problem. I have two swollen capacitors on the power board (MIP260B-1). With the help...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello. Great forum, been reading it for years. I finally decided to sign up to participate. My first hobby is drag racing, but its come along way and electronics have become a big part of what we do. We see a lot of failures due to vibration and abuse.
Thanks for having a great site (resource)!
