Re: Troubleshoot a Dell 2209wa (will not stay on after flickering)
That seems a bit complicated due to the space available.
I think so. That would explain why the monitor switches to a safe "mode", and would correlate elagil's words :
I'm not sure how to do that but I think you are talking about the same idea elagil had on another topic :
I pm'd him, I'd like to have more details on this Re:...
Re: Troubleshoot a Dell 2209wa (will not stay on after flickering)
Yes there is metal at the end of the tube.
But on this picture I don't see any space where it can connect with the inverter's metal pegs.
I think I should disassemble another rubber tube connector to figure out the difference but since I broke another plastic attachment , I'm still wondering how I'm supposed to do so. (see 2nd pic)Re: Troubleshoot a Dell 2209wa (will not stay on after flickering)...
Re: Troubleshoot a Dell 2209wa (will not stay on after flickering)
Two quick questions before I proceed to the actual fix
1/ I broke one of the plastic "thing" on the backlight part. (See attached file)
Is it ok to fix it with some super glue ?
2/ Living in Paris, there was no way that no dust comes in. What's the best way to clean it ? (I'm worried to use compressed gas because it could spray some "frozen liquid")
Re: Troubleshoot a Dell 2209wa (will not stay on after flickering)
Thanks for your help and explanations Per.
Tomorrow I will try to further disassemble the monitor, but I "kind of" already tried and since I have no idea how to and don't want to damage anything I'd like to know if there's any content that I can look at to help me on this part
Re: Troubleshoot a Dell 2209wa (will not stay on after flickering)
Do you need better quality pictures of the mainboard ? Anything in particular you want me to focus on ?
I'll try to take better pictures tomorrow with a natural light.
First of all, let me say that it was the first time I disassemble a monitor -this video helped me a lot- and to be honest I have no clear idea how to access the bulbs.
Re: Troubleshoot a Dell 2209wa (will not stay on after flickering)
I can't find the thread you are talking about. Can it be a bulb/wiring issue since the screen is able to display the input signal without flickering for 2 seconds ?
Also, on the 3rd picture of post #2, the "burned" diode's bounds is usual ?
Re: Troubleshoot a Dell 2209wa (will not stay on after flickering)
Thanks for your answer.
I posted the pics in post#2 since I can't edit #1 anymore.
I added the inverter picture. Correct me if I'm wrong but other pictures are the main board (power&logic).
I recorded the sound (.zip attached file) :
@~3s : The "click" is the power button, then you can hear a high pitch hissing sound for 2 seconds until the screen shuts down, then a "buzz" the rest of recording.
