Re: Vizio E371VL no power, no amber
Yes, I have used ShopJimmy and agree with you. I checked and they do have a board for around $80, but they are not taking tech questions (likely due to the season). So I was hoping there might be a "popular" failure point for this board with this symptom. The board is 3637-0782-0150. I'll likely go ahead and order the board. Thanks again.

Re: Vizio E371VL no power, no amber
OK, thanks for the quick response. So you think I should just go ahead and replace the Main Board, and not try to isolate further since we have no wiring diagrams?

Vizio E371VL no power, no amber
Vizio E371VL, 2 years old, no amber VIZIO light when plugged in, and no other indications of power. I assumed a bad Power Board and replaced it...same results. I tested voltage going into the PS Board and 120v AC is there going in and out of the fuse. The cable connecting the PS Board to the Main Board shows a fluctuating voltage between 0 and 5v DC on pin 1. When I remove the cable, I then get a solid 5v DC, but no 12v reading on the 12v pins. So...I'm thinking the problem must surely be in the Main Board. Any ideas where/what to test on the Main Board to isolate the problem? Or any other ideas?...

Re: Vizio VO37L power problem
Guess I'm getting Vizio crazy, working on this thing. I found a way to get past the Initial Setup screen by pressing the power button, then pressing and holding the Menu button until a blank blue screen appeared stating No Signal. That allowed me to skip the Setup screen and access the Menu. From there, I completed the setup and channel scan, and now all appears to be working A-OK. When I power it on, it goes to the last used Input device as it should. So, I'm closing this thread, and again appreciate the help from everyone.

Re: Vizio VO37L power problem
Grooooan!!!! I guess I declared victory too soon. Yesterday afternoon after installing the new Main Board, I didn't have time to check it out thoroughly, just saw the setup screen and assumed all was working, the left for the evening. This morning, I turned on the set and got the Setup screen, but can not get anything else. The only button on the right side of the set that does anything is the power button, it does turn the set on and off. Picture attached. I do not have a remote control, but would expect to be able to do whatever is needed from the...

Re: Vizio VO37L power problem
I did buy the second board from ShopJimmy, and they even told me up front I could return it if it didn't resolve my problem. They are now a favorite Ebay vendor for me.

Re: Vizio VO37L power problem
The 2nd replacement Main Board arrived today and while I held my breath, the screen came on with the setup menu! Hallelujah! I've been working on this TV for three weeks, and went down several wrong paths based on receiving a bad Main Board that was guaranteed to be in good working order. In the process, I replaced all the other boards, but have since gone back to the originals and now trying to see if refunds are available. Hopefully will at least get a refund on the "bad" main Board that was guaranteed.
Now I have a big decision...

Re: Vizio VO37L power problem
Thanks for the advice, keeney123. I had given up on help, but I feel this problem is a simple one...if I could just isolate it.
My symptoms are the same whether or not the Tcon board is connected to the Main board, so from that I would assume either a video signal is not being sent from the Main board, or the Tcon board is not processing it. That could also suggest a cable problem, based on your continuity comment, and I have not checked that. The cable connecting the Main board to the Tcon board runs underneath a large cover underneath...

Well, since I have ceased getting replies, I must assume no further help is available. Thanks to those that responded.

Thanks, tom66.....do you have any suggestions for what I might try next to isolate my "no video" problem?

Re: Vizio VO37L power problem
Ugh!! I ordered a replacement T-con board and installed it, in hopes that was the problem. Unfortunately, I get the same results. So now I have replaced all 4 boards (PS, Main, T-Con, and Inverter) with supposedly good working boards, and still get no video.
One last question before I throw in the towel.....should I get a Menu on the screen, (by pressing the menu button) without any input cables connected? Or put another way, what should a working screen look like when powered up and no input cables connected?

Re: Vizio VO37L power problem
OK, thanks. I too am learning from this forum, and appreciate the willing nature of you folks to share your knowledge. I probably should have junked this TV a week ago, but it has become a challenge I really would like to resolve. (-:

GSP 0v
GSC 1.8v
GOE .4v
US2 (voltage regulator) left to right 0v, 1.8v, 3.3v
Pin2 of CN1 connector reads 12v
One thing I'm still a bit confused about is the result of my diagnosis in Post 61. Given I get...

Re: Vizio VO37L power problem
Is this picture good enough for your purpose? I tried several settings and this was best of the lot. Also, what points on the board should I be probing for voltage? In a previous post we tested the only fuse I could find (F1) and it showed 12v....
