I will take some pictures and post them when I get home from work - would both TCONS do the exact same thing though?

Is there any way to actually test the boards as opposed to just replacing them? I am handy with a meter and soldering iron - though my o-scope is out of commission...

Finally got a photo - sorry for the delay - it was a bit of a process.......

So I picked up a cheap Samsung the other day, and lo and behold there was a good reason it was cheap.....so I started trouble shooting. I have not come across another instance like this so I thought I'd post and see what the general consensus was before I started throwing parts at the thing.
The inverter seems okay, with the TCON disconnected I get backlights just fine. If I connect the TCON, I get dark splotches on the left side which immediately fade, and then the entire screen fades to gray/white (with the left side of the screen always tending toward white). Well guess I'll get my first post out of the way - I am a manufacturing engineer from Arkansas, and I picked up a TV for cheap, but have had trouble finding any sort of guide or info that resembles my issues...so here goes!
