Just to put a bookend on this. I found a mainboard 60.EB41M.0SA. Installed it. TV works as it should. There are 2 main boards for these TVs. Make sure you get the correct one. Thanks to everybody who helped, it was appreciated!

Picture I was sent of the "old" mainboard was terrible. Picture taken of a picture on a monitor screen. She doesnt have anything better. Not gonna post it here because the resulting laughter at my expense would just be insult to injury, lol. I can make out that there is nothing populating the RN20 & RN21 locations. So, the original defective board was the correct board(obviously) and they did indeed get the wrong replacement board. I'm done harassing her over something she gave me for free. I agree. She said they gave the person they bought the "new" board from the numbers off the board and thats what they seller sent them. I'm not sure why they didnt return it and try for a diff board but she said they were over it at that point and just wanted to cut their losses and get rid of it. I would like to know exactly what board was in there they replaced to begin with. If they still have the old one or a decent picture of it we could put this to rest. The TV is worth maybe $50 working to me and I have $16 in it...Leave a comment:

Thats a good question. I didnt think of that. I contacted the previous owner who said she would try to get me the picture they took of the old mainboard they replaced. She said she had forgotten and would look. Not sure how that will help things, I just would like to know.Leave a comment:

I thought about that. The concerns I have are 1. Is the main board physically different(would the eeprom work for this MB)? 2. My soldering skills are ATROCIOUS and I have crappy equipment so I'd have to find someone to do it for me(not a huge deal). I've truly only seen 2 different types of mainboard(with diff firmware numbers) for this, they do look similar but I wouldnt know what to look for. I will admit to buying a different TCon, one that is physically diff from the other one I bought and it produced a ghosty white image and...Leave a comment:

I'll tell ya, I dont think there actually is a service menu on these things. Maybe the old ones had them. But if they have them, why doesnt ANYONE know how to access it? You would think that after all these years, there has to be SOMEONE who worked on these that let that info out. Yet, no one here seems to know. I've searched online for hours upon hours and havent been able to find it. Its like it doesnt exist. So yeah, maybe it doesnt exist because there isnt one. They are new batteries. It isnt just the remote that acts weird sometimes, the side touch board, besides the + - volume being reversed, will also bring up that "Lets Get Connected" menu if you press the buttons fast enough. I've posted a few pics of the touchboard. I wonder if I would need physical buttons, or maybe a jumper to do the button combo you posted....Leave a comment:

Yeah, it is BS. I kinda think maybe there is no service menu, only board revisions/firmware to work with different parts. I'm certain this TV would work if I could access a service menu, but it may not have the ability to do so....Leave a comment:

Does not work. Also, as I talked about the remote being weird, whenever i press any number buttons the TV immediately pops up the "Lets Get Connected" menu as if its being set up for input.Leave a comment:

So, after holding the - + buttons on the side, I would hit power on the side button, not the remote right? I havent gotten that to work yet, I can keep trying. But heres some FYI on this set, it doesnt have physical side buttons, they are touch buttons. Also, the side buttons and remote are a little wonky with the TV, and it might be because the mainboard is the wrong one. Everything on the side touchboard works, but volume buttons are reversed.Leave a comment:

I'd say you guys nailed it.
I contacted the woman I got the TV from and this was her response. "he(her husband) said that we replaced the main board. the person that we contacted to purchase the new main board we sent a picture to, along with the numbers and they sent us one that had all the same numbers but the last three letters were different, when we asked about it he told us that it was the same thing. And that's when we got frustrated and just stopped trying".

Westinghouse LD-4695 T-Con Mainboard Mismatch?
I got this TV through an online local ad, they didnt have much info to give me at the time. When I took it apart I noticed the screws on the TCon board were lose and sure enough, theres writing on the backside which leads me to believe it was replaced. I went ahead and ordered one off Ebay anyway because the solarization led me to believe it was the TCon. Got it, installed it, same issue. At this point I'm really pointing toward a TCon mainboard mismatch. I have no idea if the TCon that was in the TV when I got it was the original but the one I got off Ebay was exactly the same as it. FSP FSP460-60PFN Bad Fuhjyyu
Hello all! First of all, I've had this PSU for about 2 years now, bought used of "the Bay". A great PSU, zero problems and rock solid. I usually shoot some compressed air through it every 3 months or so, but yesterday I did finally take off the cover to clean it. First thing I see is this domed Fuhjyyu 4700uf 10v. Yay. The surrounding caps are all Teapos and look fine. Now, using the search it seems the Fuhjyyu's are a common problem in this PSU. My question is, where do you begin disassembling this PSU to get at the cap? Does the whole thing need to come apart? I see some of you folks...Last edited by pdog_phatpat; 04-07-2010, 10:13 PM. -

Thanks for the Help PlainBill. The monitor has worked perfectly since yesterday, so it's making it kinda hard to test. It figures...it's fighting me. Yeah...the thing is all over the place as far as reliable operation goes. I put everything back together and hooked it to a PC and had picture while I tested it. I had it face down while I was testing it and 2 times it shut off and I had to unplug the power, wait around 30 seconds, plug the power back in and then it was fine. Right now I have it plugged into the PC and am running Serious Sam demos and so far no problems after 2 hours. Confusing.Leave a comment:
