Re: Maxent MX-5020HPM plasma - main board vendor
River Valley Electronics - I ordered the part on Wednesday and received it on Friday - free shipping, no sales tax.
I swapped out the board and voila! my 50" is back!
Got it back up on the wall too.
What should I do with the old board?

Re: 50" Plama vertical lines - repairable??
It was the main board. I replaced it and all is good.
I am VERY thankful for this forum, its a great site.
Now I have a faulty main board that someone may want for spare parts.
Probably has a badcap in it

Re: Maxent MX-5020HPM plasma - main board vendor
After calling 2 suppliers (they both said the same thing), it seems that the only thing to go by is the "Part Number", which is on a sticker.
The "Board Numbers" don't matter.
Apparently, they can use the same "board" (either bare or with some components) and configure it into a specific "Part Number".
There are 3 stickers on my board - none of them give any indication for which is the "Part Number". But the suppliers seem to know.
So I went a head and bought...

Re: Maxent MX-5020HPM plasma - main board vendor
I guess I need to ask how to research this kinds of detail.
On the River Valley page, it lists the same part number as DPWB11578MPP. This number appears on a sticker on my board.
The differences are in the suffix; QPWB11578Y1G--- Vs. QPWB11578Y1G-1. This number is printed onto the board.
Also, on another sticker, my board has 50P6I11-06675 and they have a reference to 50P6I11-05713.
I have no idea what these differences mean....

Maxent MX-5020HPM plasma - main board vendor
Where can I buy a QPWB11578Y1G--- board?
Shop Jimmy is out of stock.
Also, I would like to know if different versions of the board will be OK.
At River Valley Electronics, they are selling a QPWB11578Y1G-1-.
My board has the additional part number as 50P6I11-06675 but theirs is listed as 50P6I11-05713.
Will this be ok?
From a separate thread, it was suggested that I replace this main board (judging from the symptoms)....

Re: 50" Plama vertical lines - repairable??
All three. And the other components in the area.
The hair dryer is not selective.
I also froze all of them.

These horizontal bars are not static (Vs dynamic)
They kinda flicker about.
They have vertical black and white lines within them....

Re: 50" Plama vertical lines - repairable??
I heated them with a hair dryer and then I froze them with a spray.
Now there seems to be horizontal bars in the mix.

So then regarding my issue with trying to get a main board replacement.
At shop jimmy and other sites, when I search for QPWB11578Y1G I get results for YPWB or DPWB instead.
Is this the same thing or do I need to get QPWB specifically?

Re: 50" Plama vertical lines - repairable??
The main board is out of stock at shop jimmy.
The part number is the same except for the suffix. On mine it is ---, the replacement is -1-.
I assume its just a newer version of the same part.
In the meantime, I'll pick up some freeze spray.
What is a good way to apply heat? A hair dryer?

I have a fluke for any voltage measurements.
But I need to get info, I don't have any video electronic experience.

Re: 50" Plama vertical lines - repairable??
Is the link that mmartell posted the main or the control board?
Is it a good idea to just verify the part number and replace it?

Re: 50" Plama vertical lines - repairable??
Are you referring to the small board behind the main board?
Is that the control board?
I didn't catch that tom66 had referred to it.
Its Maxent MX5020-HPM.
So you're saying the hidden board is the suspect?

I'm looking for someone who can suggest which boards to replace - or let me know that it may be cheaper to buy a new 50".

There's a small board behind the main board that I didn't get to see without disassembly...
