Re: VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A - Voltage Regulator Input
Thanks bud! I appreciate you taking a look. Hopefully you can find one that you could test.
I will head over and ask the PO of that thread to see if they would be willing to measure for us.
My iron is only 40W, with an old tip, so I'm sure the heat transfer was not sufficient at all.

Q27 is a transistor according to norcal in this video.

I am just going to order another board. I have spent enough time on it. Once I install the new board, I am still going to see if I can repair this one. It would be a good learning tool.
The TV is working and the only issue is that there is only audio @ the optical output. The TV speakers do not function (just buzzing), nor...

Re: VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A - Voltage Regulator Input
Hi Alastair.
My TV wouldn't power up.

I replaced busted capacitors and fuses and the TV works great now (at least the HDMI that I tested so far).
While I still have the TV apart, I wanted to test the regulator that I shorted when I first starting working on finding the culprit(s).
I agree with you, but now I am just...Last edited by gethooked; 10-17-2014, 09:56 AM.

Re: VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A - Voltage Regulator Input
These are the regulators I purchased. Will these work?

Re: VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A - Voltage Regulator Input
bud,
I remember touching the input pin and ground pin together on the 7805 Regulator when I first tested the board a week ago. It shorted and shut the TV off, but still powered on.
I was never able to see if the regulator ever had 12V into it, because i shorted it.
Would this cause the regulator to not accept the 12V in?
I bought another regulator, would it be worth soldering the new one in?

VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A - Voltage Regulator Input
Hi all.
- Why would my TV be functioning properly if I have more output than input on the transistor?
- Why would my TV be functioning properly I have hardly any volts on the U3 regulator?

Re: [UPDATE] VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A No Video
UPDATE

I have just replaced all capacitors on the secondary of P/S and all capacitors on both inverters.

I have also jumped the fuse on the master.

TV is on and running great.

Just a little buzzing (very subtle) from time to time on the master and slave inverters.
However - I am still seeing:

2.44V on the (Input Pins) @ Transistor O27 and Regulator U3

11.8V on the (Adjust and Output Pins) @ O27

1.02V on the (Output Pin)...

Re: VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A No Video
The original fuse on the inverter is a 10A.
Do you still think the MOSFETs could possibly be shorted/damaged?
Once the the parts arrive this week, I will solder everything in and report back.

Re: VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A No Video
First off....Thanks again for taking the time to help, bud.
I purchased the 10A fuse because...
I read a similar post where you recommended the 10A fuse for repair on the inverter...
I figure that if I replace all the capcitors on the secondary side of the P/S and the inverters, along with the fuse on the master inverter, I may be in luck.
Should I just go ahead and order the MOSFETS for the master inverter as well?...

Re: VIZIO VO47L FHDTV10A No Video
budm,
I measured the caps and added all the caps on the secondary side to my cart at digikey.
Could you please take a look to see if I am purchasing the correct components.
I also added the U3 7805 regulator in case it is bad. I hope that's the correct replacement regulator.
