  • Re: LG 50PT350 help

As the maintenance manager for a restaurant chain on occasion I am called on to repair a TV. The latest has stumped me.
I have an LG50pt350 with no pic or sound. The power button and remote will cause a relay on the main power board to click three times, then shut down. I replaced the Zsus board and gained sound and a bad picture. The picture is dark and hard to see, almost black and white, but not quite. I am wondering about the Ysus board and two Y drivers. Any opinions or suggestions?
    Thanks,
    NauticalNaturist.

I give up!! I cannot get you pictures of the PSU. It looks OK, no apparent damage. Could you tell me where to find a tech/repair manual? I tried "Tom's Manuals" but could not get past the language converter download.

Pictures are difficult for me, but I will try. I have not seen any popped caps or dark spots under diodes or resisters. I cannot check anything because the fuse blows as soon as I apply power. I will try to get some pics.

  • Samsung Plasma Blowing Fuses

This PN59D530 runs in a restaurant 10-12 hrs a day. after about two years it blew the 10amp/250v power input fuse. I could not find a replacement ceramic fuse so I used a glass slo-blo 10a/250, which blew immediately. The power runs through a choke then the rest of the circuit. It has four transformers, including a large PB6F-VS. I have already bragged to my boss I could fix this TV, expecting bad caps. Now I am stuck. Help!?!?

I have a Magnavox 47mf437b37 47" LCD TV. The sound began to squeal, then the picture flashed a few times and died. I installed a capacitor/diode kit from LCDalternatives.com, along with additional diodes/zeners they later provided. I now have no squeal and the picture now flashes on twice, then is blank for a second, then flashes the picture twice again. Wash/rinse/repeat. LCDalternatives suggested I contact you guys for help. HELP!!! I can handle the component swaps, I may be able to check voltages if I have specific instructions. I am almost ready to replace the entire PSU.
    Thanks...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

I have just subscribed to this site and am still trying to figure it out.
Intro; I have been fascinated by electricity all my life, starting with a Van deGraff generator when I was 10. I studied analog electronics when I worked for Western Electric, where I learned soldering and some troubleshooting skills. I worked as an electrician's helper long enough to learn house wiring. I am comfortable with AC and DC systems. I have almost no computer skills, which is why I cannot figure out how to start a thread about my Magavox...

  • Re: MAGNAVOX no picture powers LED 47MF437B/37

    Hi, NauticalNaturist here.
I also have a problem with a Magnavox 47mf437b37. I use a repair kit from LCDalternatives.com. This kit contained the most commonly damaged caps, diodes, and zeners. The kit made improvements, but did not cure the problem. Scott with LCD alternatives sent me more components on a "beta tester" basis. These made a further improvement, but did not cure the problem. Scott then directed me to this site for additional help. Anyone interested? The TV does not squeal or chirp now, but the picture...
