Re: Bush bpdp42hd3 plasma no picture but TV stays on.
Just a few quick snaps of the inside. I really should have taken a photo when I ran the test pattern check but I found a similar photo online of a tv. My TV had the lines going horizontal and as mentioned before a white band running across near the top....

Re: Bush bpdp42hd3 plasma no picture but TV stays on.
Very interesting read, thank you. The TV only gives 2 clicks then no picture. From reading the post and thinking of what happened when i ran the test pattern test, smell of burning and not a clean picture. I think the Y-buffer is worth replacing. I did buy some IC's a while back but have lost them some how! Anyhow I'll do a check on the buffer and see how much they are to buy.
Thanks....

Bush bpdp42hd3 plasma no picture but TV stays on.
I've got a Bush bpdp42hd3 42" plasma. When I turn it on the relay clicks on and there are small white pixels at the bottom of the screen for a second and that's it. The green light on the TV stays on. I've tried switching sources to find out if there is any sound coming through and there isn't.
So I opened up the TV and visually I can see nothing. I tested the usual points, VScan, VA_TP, VS_TP, Ve, PS_on etc. When the TV is switched on the voltages are correct but then the voltages drop to near zero.
I've unplugged the boards and still the same. So I decided...

LG 50PZ550T - No signal for current input device.
Hi, I've just this tv in for repair. Turn the TV on and get a red standby light. I press the power on from the remote. The TV turns on and HDMI comes up in the left hand corner for a second. The a small display pops up saying 'No signal for current input. Try other available inputs'. I try to use the remote but nothing happens. When you touch the buttons on the tv it shuts down. I tried VGA and scart and its the same. So i'm 90% sure its the main board that's fault. I tried heating up the board but that didn't work. Then I read about changing the HDMI controller IC should fix it. I had no idea...

Re: Peavey DPM 3se power problem
Thanks clearchris for the info.
I now have an intermittent blurring of the LCD. Somewhere on the memory board must be something loose as one day its fine then another day after pressing some chips in its not. Also when I disconnect the leads from the power board to it the LCD is clear. The voltage output drops too when the blurring occurs. I think I pushed a chip in too hard so will take the board out and check the solder joints.
I'm looking at the micro board at the moment, the board just before the LCD. There are lots of zener diodes...

Re: Peavey DPM 3se power problem
I did think thatI replied on my phone and it wouldn't let me attach the pdf's, sorry. I'm home now and on the computer so here they are
I've noticed if I pull out chips the power transformer starts to humm and the lcd goes blurry again. The lcd is now clear but there is no text at all. As though the power is on but then the keyboard for its first stage but then stage 2 it does nothing.
I appreciate any help given. THank you....

Yes, Peavey sent me all of them.

Re: Peavey DPM 3se power problem
Next morning is here and still the LCD is blank. I looked at the rest process and it asks to press 'multi' but that is on the display so I can't reset it. I'm next looking at another board by the outputs. I noticed that when I power off it does send a signal through the headphones.
Question. How hot should capacitors get? Should they roughly be the same as one of them is hotter than the rest. Thanks

Re: Peavey DPM 3se power problem
I checked everything and I had diode CR100 the wrong way, doh!!!
The display is back to being clear but still no letters etc on the LCD, no sound. I'm leaving it on over night as I've read a few times when putting in a new battery it gives a blank LCD. So overnight charges up and then you reset the keyboard. So lets see what happens tomorrow

Re: Samsung PS42E7HD will not display problem
I bought a replacement logic board and turned the tv on. The screen kept flashing 3/4 white and the other with green pixels. It clicked everytime it flashed too. Then smoke appeared from the back. It was a chip on the Y-buffer board. I think it's time to give up on this tv.

Re: Peavey DPM 3se power problem
Thanks for the replies.
I did a test on Q100 (SAC187) and attached the results.
I'll check the components I removed later tonight.
Thanks....

Peavey DPM 3se power problem
My friend asked me to take a look at his Peavey DPM 3se Keyboard. All that happens is the lcd lights up and that's it. Peavey very kindly sent me all the schematics for the keyboard. I checked voltages on the power board at first and they read ok. But after taking a few components out and testing them, then putting them back in something has happened.
Before, the lcd looked clear so you could see the actual pixels. Now it looks kind of blurred. I have checked voltages and there is no +5V. I have attached the schematic of the power board with my notes on it. As you can see i trace the voltage...

Re: Samsung PS42E7HD will not display problem
Also found out today that the sound works. The cable from the logic board to the y-main is still disconnected.
Any help would be very appreciated please. Thank you.

Re: Samsung PS42E7HD will not display problem
This morning I plugged everything in except the cable from the logic board to the y-main. The TV clicks and then nothing, no hot resistor or anything going pop! So I decided to measure some voltages.
Main Board:
Vs - 198v, Va - 65v, Vg - 14v, Vt - 32v, D5.3 - 4v, A6.5 - 5v, 18v Amp - 17v, 12v - 11v, STD5 - 4v.
Mini board - LJ44-00105A
Va - 65v, Vset - 195v, Vscan - -188v, Ve - 104v.
X-main
XS1 - 0v, XS2 - 76v, XG1 - 4v, XG2 - 4v, XE1 - 0v, XF1 - 89v, XR1 - 84v.
Y-main (Logic board not connected)...

Samsung PS42E7HD will not display problem
My neighbour was throwing out a Samsung 42" plasma TV so I said I'll take it. A nice project to work on I thought as I have fixed a few TV's by changing capacitors, nothing really that technical.
I got the TV home, the screen looked ok and so I plugged it in. I smelt smoke so shut it off. Opened it up and noticed some capacitors blown on the power board. I swapped them and then I got clicking with 4 red blinks from the button on the front. I checked the Vs etc points and they all read good. I checked the y-main LJ92-01346A and there was a capacitor and two resistors not working. I replaced...Last edited by gizmouk; 06-12-2015, 06:35 PM.

Re: Samsung 42 Plasma Wont turn on PSPF411701A
A friend of mine asked me to a tv with this board. The tv would turn on the after 30 seconds or so it would turn off, then turn on again. I opened it up to see two capacitors bulging. I replaced those and tried again. This time it stayed on again for about 30 seconds then turned off and started to click. After finding this page and reading from http://preher-tv.blogspot.co.uk/2010/01/samsung-hpt4254-no-power-repaired.html I decided to resolder MOSFETs QX801 and QX802. I turned the tv back on and it worked! Tested it running...
