You have a different board than the one I have, it is similar to the one I have in the one I repaired, so I sugess that you check continuity on fuse F200 on the green side of the board.

I checked the other one again, the backlight simply does not come on and it is not the same boards as in this one even though the other one is also a al1916w. the mfg date of the one I am talking about in this post is 2008 and it only has a vga connector, the other one have both vga and dvi and the mfg date is 2007( i will need to replace caps on thsi one for sure as they are bulged). but back to the one that goes dead after about 5 seconds, I am really wondering what could be wrong with it, nothing seems to have overheat or anything, the...

Thanks for you reply PlainBill, I measured between points S1 and I am getting 608 ohm, and between poitsn S2 I am getting 615ohm, does these values seems correct to you? any other idea on what I can check?

so did anyone was able to solve this problem? I have two of these monitors here with the exact same problem, all the capacitors looks fine, not bulged at all, backlight and pictures comes on for about 5 secs, anyone can help? I can post pictures if needed
