  • Re: SCEPTRE X42GV-KOMODO repair help

Does anyone know what the voltages are supposed to be on the small connector 3rd pic, that goes between main board and power supply?

If this is unplugged the inverters power up when TV is turned on.

Here's some pics if it helps @ all.
One thing I noticed is there are 2 led(s) on the motherboard by a small connector. (picture 3 attached)
They just barely blink when you try to power it on.
If I unplug it the led(s) blink much brighter, and the backlights turn on (but no normal display or logo comes up).

Both the power supply & inverter connections have 24v as marked.
I'm @ a loss on how to proceed....

  • SCEPTRE X42GV-KOMODO repair help

Bought this thing new many years ago, few weeks ago it just would power on properly.

Was watching it, turned it off for ~30 minutes, when I turned it back on power light changed from red to blue(normal), but no LCD display.
After a bunch of reading seemed like the power supply was the likely culprit.

Removed all the caps from the power supply, ordered replacements, last night put it all back together.
Initially it powered up and displayed the Sceptre logo on the screen but just stayed there.
It didn't go to fuzz or say no signal like it normally...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Another new guy looking to fix my old TV.
Found this site doing an internet search, and looks like this is the place to get some help

I do have some electronics knowledge, but have forgotten a LOT of what I learned many years ago.
