The backlight on my LG LED TV is acting strange. Sometimes when I turn on the TV, the backlight doesn't come on with the rest of it. I can hear audio and the LCD is displaying a picture but no backlight. Well, give the back of the TV a firm smack or two (near the bottom) and it will turn on! It makes for a fun time with guests when it happens but its getting to the point where I'd like to fix it.

I've popped open the back of it and turned it on, tried wiggling some connections, and no change. In this case, the backlight turned on and I wanted to see if a loose wire was the cause...

Hello!

I just found this forum and thought a lot of the sections here were relevant to my hobbies, so here I am! My main hobby has been building computers and I have some experience in electrical repair. I've been looking to expand my electrical repair skills as I've been getting into DIY projects that involve a soldering iron and lots of little parts. I've also been looking for somewhere to go when I have an issue with some of my hardware that I think I can fix. Anyway, glad to be aboard!
