    There is nothing to snap in.

    I do not understand what a SMD type is?

    The previous pic is not the actual connector, but is almost identical except that the broken has 3 pins instead of 2.

    This is what the [B]bottom[/B] of the broken connector looks like. The part that was connected to the MB

    The three dots are the actual silver color pins and send the power to...

    Unfortunately the metal pins were ripped out as well.
    I don't know how to resolder the connector? The pins are so close togather it does not look possible by hand. ...

  • motherboard connector broken

    Hello,
    My friend broke the DC jack on his laptop. Since I have successfully repaired a few notebooks with this problem by soldering a new jack to the notebook. he asked me to repair the PC. Everything was going fine until I had to remove the heat sink fan power cord from the Motherboard when I attempted to pull it out, the connecter broke right off the Motherboard. (The white piece I have circled)

    Does anyone know if it is possible to resolder the connector to the MB, and if it is possible.
