Re: SONY KDL-55HX800 - Need LED Backlight Strip

I was thinking even if somebody had a TV with a broken LCD that had a similar strip, I could maybe even rob some of the actual LED's out of and solder them onto my strip. I assume Sony uses similar LED's in many models. They are Samsung brand 5630 White LED's.

Trying to fix this KDL-55HX800. It had a small dark spot in the bottom right corner of the screen, and then the TV would shut itself down after about 20-30 seconds. If you would tap on that part of the screen, sometimes the spot would go away and the TV would work again...for a while. Until it came back. I have narrowed it down to a bad LED backlight strip. I swapped it with the left side LED strip on the bottom, and the dark spot moved to that side of the TV. I then tried resoldering each LED in that bad section, but that did not cure the issue. It must be a defective LED.
