Old thread, but as a new member I can't make my own yet...

I'm having the same issue on my VW37L (HDTV40A).

F1 is blown. I replaced it (3a) with a 2.5a (its what I had) and it blew almost instantly.

I get 5v to f1

Any things to check beyond F1 to determine the cause of the short/failure? Anyone have a service manual?

I see the 117 regulators are iffy, but without any voltage going to them its hard to check.

Visually nothing else is "bad" on the board...
