Re: Intel Desktop board need help identifying correct capacitor
There are also 3 bulging caps around the CPU. They are 3300uF and say (m)105*c 3(2) 6D
I'm going to assume they are just regular +/- 20% caps?
They are Chemicon KZG series

Intel Desktop board need help identifying correct capacitor
There is only one solid state capacitor on the entire board, it is an intel d845GEBV2 board. The capacitor reads 1300 6.3v, which I'm assuming is 1300uF and 6.3 volts. It is vented at the top and spewing goo. I have 2 boards with the same problems. It is located between the ram slot and the IDE cable hookup on the side of the board.
Its that guy right there, mine is a solid cap though, that one looks like a regular one.
Can anyone give me insight as to a replacement? Low ESR? Anything special? Can I sub a regular cap that I have lying around?

Re: Sony amp "protect" issue
I've got a STR-D665 with a similar protect problem.
Only, it will work perfectly fine for a week and then do protect. Cooling it down and trying again it will work for another week.
I've got it apart right now looking for issues, its just a junker amp to me.... I might salvage all the caps from it for electronics experimenting, they are all rubycon

Gateway LCD monitor FPD2275W bad capacitor
Sorry for a lack of pictures, but I just got it back together and really don't feel like taking it back apart to snap a few photographs
The monitor is an LCD FPD2275W made by gateway. The invertor board and main power supply is seperate from the video board. The monitor would turn on, fully functional, and the backlight would fail within a few seconds. This was an office monitor, and I was tasked with purchasing a replacement, which I did. Instead of throwing away the old monitor, I was allowed to keep it.
Basically there was a bad 1000uF capacitor on the...

Bad caps on linksys WRT330n wireless routers
I have 2 of theses "gaming" wireless routers, and both have failed in the same way. They power on fine, and work fine for a few minutes, and then they stop responding.
On both of them, the culprit was a bad Hermei 470uF capacitor. They were both bulged, no leaking or anything. I replaced them with caps I scavenged from an old motorola DSL modem, and they work great now.
The new cap is circled, it is a 25 volt 470uF TEAPO, the old cap is the 10v hermei...Last edited by DJCarbine; 06-22-2009, 04:53 PM.
