Re: DC voltage drops after replacing the capacitor!
Doesn't it have to be as close as possible to the output voltage labeled on the board?
Isn't it possible that some components are running undervolt? Doesn't this cause instability?

DC voltage drops after replacing the capacitor!
Hi,
Someone asked me to take a look at his 6 years old, heavily used satellite receiver. To my amazement, despite the satellite receiver, being from a brand with a notorious reputation of being of inferior quality, it was working pretty good.
I checked the voltages:
3.33 ===> 3.36
3.33 ===> 3.36
8.00 ===> 7.64
12.0 ===> 11.7
23.0 ===> 22.7
I changed the only 1000uf 10v SamYoung SHL series with 1000uf 35v SamYoung NXB series. I did this because most of the time in this type of satellite receivers...

Fake Nippon-Chemicon KZE?
Hi
I was fixing a Sony DVD player and I came across two Nippon-Chemicon KZE with pale (not pure) white printing.
They are 2200uf 35v KZE.
I checked the KZE manual and didn't find any 2200uf 35v KZE.Does this mean that they are fake?!

Re: List of Bad Cap Manufacturers
I think your list also misses Sam Young capacitors. Although I have had successful experience with NXB series (Low ESR, Long life) but I have seen many people on this forum, having problem with Sam Young in general.

Re: List of Bad Cap Manufacturers
Please add SAMWHA caps http://www.samwha.com/
I've seen lots of bad SAMWHA caps in Samsung LCDs.
Specifically:
2200uf 10v VNA
2200uf 10v W1A
1000uf 25v V8A
I've seen another model in Samsung LCDs without any sign of problem:
1000uf 10v V9E
But I always change them anyway!Re: List of Bad Cap Manufacturers<br... of bad SAMWHA
