Hello and thanks for reading my post.
I have an older Panasonic 42" Plasma TV #42PZ80U that was damaged by an electrical storm. This forum helped me fix this TV about 4 years ago see this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39144 . I replaced the A-board and fixed it. This time I have a different problem in that the TV doesn't see any input. I can use the TV's menu and change the input selection so I think the video system itself is OK but nothing I plug into the A-board shows up on the screen. I'm thinking it's the A-board again but was hoping...

Re: Panasonic 42" plasma #42PZ80U electrical storm damage
Rats, It happened again. This same TV you guys helped me fix 4 years ago got zapped by lightning again. This time I have video screen but it doesn't see any input. I can scroll through the menus and change the input selection but that's it. I have no power cycling like before and there's no clicking sound. Could it possibly be the A board again? Maybe I should try the earlier mentioned test again?
Thanks for reading

Re: Samsung UN29F4000AF Electrical Storm Damage.
Here are some pics of his boards. Is it recommended to replace the mainboard at this point? If so, how do we go about determining the correct replacement. I had the same issue on a Panasonic and we had to figure the correct suffix I believe by reading a block of jumpers on the board. Would it be the same with this one?...

Samsung UN29F4000AF Electrical Storm Damage.
Hello everyone,
Trying to help my neighbor out here. He has a Samsung UN29F4000AF LED TV that stopped working after a lightning storm. We've taken the back off and can't see anything obvious like a burnt area or something like that. The red light on the power button comes on when the unit is plugged in but that's it. There is no backlight as far as we can tell and we tried the flashlight trick to see an image on the screen but there appears to be nothing. It doesn't respond to the remote either. From other internet research I've done i'm guessing it's the main board but was hoping...

Panasonic 42" plasma #42PZ80U electrical storm damage
Hello everyone and thanks for reading my post.
Here's what I have: 42" Panasonic plasma HDTV model #42PZ80U from 2008. I'm pretty sure the issue is the result of a recent electrical storm. When I turn it on with the remote, the red light comes on and you can see a change in the screen but nothing else happens. It does not seem to respond to the remote at all with the exception of turning it on. The remote will not turn it off and it doesn't respond to any of the keys. It also does not respond to the buttons on the front of the set. The red LED is solid with no blinks and the...
