  • Adding Bluetooth to Samsung UN46F6300

I have an early model Samsung UN46F6300 TV and would like to add Bluetooth audio. I used the service menu to enable Bluetooth under MRT and Engineer options and powered the TV off and back on. I see no Bluetooth option under the sound menu, so I'm guessing the hardware isn't there. The TV has a wi-fi card, so I'm wondering if there is a card from a higher level model that I could swap in. I don't have access to a computer right now, so I'm trying to save my eyes by searching for hours on this topic. Hoping someone has a quick answer before I just go buy a Bluetooth adapter. Many thanks in advance....

  • Re: Samsung UN46F6300 - Powers Off Shortly After Power On - Not in On/Off Loop

I found a main board for $60. I received it yesterday and quickly installed it. Everything worked great. I went to put the old board in a box today and noticed something I forgot....some sort of heatsink pad attached to the back of the board behind the processor that appears to be there to dissipate heat into the metal frame of the TV. I pulled the main board back off and put it in the marked area. When I went to screw down the main board I noticed the board bulging up. This heatsink pad appears to be...

  • Re: Samsung UN46F6300 - Powers Off Shortly After Power On - Not in On/Off Loop

I have tried resetting the TV several times and disabling the network connection on startup. I have also accessed the factory service and diagnostic menu and tried figuring out a way to update the firmware from there. The TV just shuts off so fast that I cannot do anything. The software update menu is always grayed out which is a bit odd. Either way it sounds like it is a main board and I am struggling to find one, or one at a decent price. I really hate to replace the TV when it is only four years old....

Readings from pin 6 on connector CNM803 as follows -

TV Off but plugged in - 0.00 VDC
Initial power button press - 0.15 jumps to 0.91 VDC
Less than a second after power button press - 4.82 VDC (to either pin 8 or pin 10 GND or chassis)
When TV appears to shut off - 0.00 VDC

Although the red power indicator stays on, I noticed that a small blue LED on what I believe is the video driver board also goes out when I lose the back light signal. Seems like...

I unplugged the ribbon cable from the main board to the power board and then plugged the TV in. The back lights came on immediately and stayed on. I let it go for ten minutes and then unplugged it. I am guessing this little trick would have proved my original power board was okay and saved me two weeks of waiting on a new board (first one came damaged by USPS).

  • Samsung UN46F6300 - Powers Off Shortly After Power On - Not in On/Off Loop

I have a Samsung UN46F6300AFXZA LED SmartTV (manufactured in Jan 2014) that began intermittently turning off several months ago. It got progressively worse and is now to the point where it turns off every 2-3 minutes. It powers down and is not in an on/off power cycle loop. Firmware is .2011 and the latest is .2025. I cannot get the TV to stay on long enough to attempt a firmware update, nor do I think it is the problem. I have performed multiple factory resets, made sure all AnyNet/CEC features are turned off and all ECO settings and loss of signal power down options are turned off. I have inspected...

  • Re: Samsung LN40B630N1FUZA - Backlight Inop

UPDATE - I finally found a fairly cost effective Power/Inverter board on the internet and ordered it late last week. It arrived today and I installed it. TV is working perfectly now (and has for several hours). I am now going to try and take a closer look at this board and see if I can find anything wrong with it. Does anyone know if there is anyone who buys these boards to refurbish them? It would be nice if I could get some money back from it and help someone else out as it looks like these boards are getting hard to come by now. Thanks...

Looks like a replacement board is not available for this thing after my searches without significant lead times. It would be nice to find the offending component and replace it, but at what time do I stop testing and order the board in hopes of getting one? Is everyone pretty sure this is in the Power/Inverter board, or are there still possibilities for the T-Con or Logic boards? If there was some sort of procedure I could use to eliminate them, it might make sense to do that and then order the Power/Inverter board before they become harder...

I have it in a fairly dark room and never see anything flash in the way of a backlight when it is powered on....

    Resistor Spec Measurement
    RI870 68 68.6
    RI871 56 56.6
    RI872 30K 25.4K
    RI873 470 234.6 (parallels RI874)
    RI874 470 234.7
    RI875 68 68.1
    RI876 56 56.2
    RI877 30K 29.9K
    RI878 470 234.2 (parallels with RI879)
    RI879 470 234.1

I'm kind of concerned with RI872 as I am guessing it is a 1% or less tolerance resistor and does not match the corresponding resistor...

I will make the rest of the checks recommended later this evening. Bud - I really appreciate the help. Can you clarify the test you are wanting me to perform? I reviewed the redline diagram you attached, but am not 100% clear.

I apologize for the error. Yes, I meant I checked FM802S and it was okay. Thanks for catching that one....

CP815 and CP816 both have 172.5 VDC on them several minutes after entering standby mode. It does not appear to drop any further after that. I will recheck later.

  • Re: Samsung LN40B630N1FUZA - Backlight Inop

CP815 and CP816 both have 392 VDC when the TV is powered on, which slowly dissapates after power off. When measuring DC volts between pin 23 (Inverter On/Off) and pin 17 (Ground), I get a quick spike at power on and then a steady 4.69 VDC after. I do not see the backlight flash at all, but I have the TV face down on the bench right now. Guessing I should be able to clearly see the flash from the rear of the panel if it were present.

  • Samsung LN40B630N1FUZA - Backlight Inop

I have a Samsung LN40B630N1FUZA that was manufactured in February 2010 and purchased in April 2010. The TV was not used heavily the past four years and was recently unplugged (several hours after being powered down) before we went on a vacation. When we returned the TV was plugged back in and attempted to be used the next day. The TV powers on, I hear the startup sound, but get no picture and no OSD when the MENU button is pressed on the remote. If I play a DVD or use another input, I can hear sound and see a faint, clear picture if I shine a very bright flashlight close to the screen. I have...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

I'm Scott from Indiana and am currently reviewing all of the information I can find to help me troubleshoot an issue with my Samsung LN40B630N1 LCD TV. I am hoping to be able to gain some knowledge by learning from more experienced users as I am a bit new to component level electrical troubleshooting on PCB's. I look forward to hearing from some of you!
