I found a Xenius LCDX42WHD89 outside my next door but one neighbours house, I took one look at it never having fixed a television in my life, and saw it had no cracked screen and thought I will give it a bash, I opened the back and found 3 wires sat on a heatsink burnt, I replaced the wires, and fitted a 120mm fan to the back, after that 6 caps had gone 3 on the power supply and 3 on the inverter, I swaped them for panasonics and its been my pc monitor for about 12 months, it still has some issues like the transformer on the power supply buzzes loudly...

Hello I am new to this forum, I have joined to find out information about fixing electronics.
I found an 42 LCD tv at the side of the road without a broken screen and thought I would take it home, I looked inside and found some burnt wires (touching a heatsink) I replaced them and it worked, but I have had other problems along the way, I found 6 bulging caps 3 on the power supply and three on the inverter, which I replaced and success it worked again, but it keeps getting a fault where the power supply transformer whines...
