I have a RCA RT2500 that doesn't power on sometimes, after some Googling, i found a few people that have replaced the two 6800uf caps "between" the heat sinks, they don't appear to be bad on mine...
There's a couple of caps in the "power supply" section that i'd like to run by you guys and see if any of these are known bad caps?
2 YEC 6800uf 16v SM 85c
2 YEC 2200uf 35v SM 85c
2 United Chemi-con AHS 12000uf 63wv 85c
1 NOVA 1000uf 25v
Thanks!...

Re: mitsubishi 3000gt ecms
I wasn't aware mine was CA emissions. What's the difference?
Here's some more pictures of the ECM when I had it apart.
I don't have any pics of the underside. Have you tried looking for a schematic?...

Re: Intel D850mv And D850mvse Mobo
The board was purchased in 2002.
I'll probably either re-cap it myself or get a local shop to do it for me instead of bothering with Intel again.

Re: Intel D850mv And D850mvse Mobo
bad news, a very rude lady named Rose from Intel called me today and told me that they won't be giving me a refund for my mobo or anything! it seems the technician "Alex" misled me or thought that they would cover these mobos. anyone know anybody at Intel that may be able to help me in this consumer affair now?

Re: mitsubishi 3000gt ecms
I have a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT that I replaced the caps on it's computer. Two were starting to leak and would have caused problems. Did not have any symptoms, I just did it in advance when I heard about this problem....

Re: Intel D850mv And D850mvse Mobo
This board is riddled with several Nichicon caps. I can take lots of pictures but there's nothing to look at. None are leaking or buldging and I think if I were to remove them they might be leaking underneath. The symptoms match a failing cap as the board will power up but not POST. Good memory, CPU, powersupply and video card. It's like fire, you have to have the essential elements otherwise there is no action. I have sent Intel my info and haven't heard anything yet.

Re: Intel D850mv And D850mvse Mobo
I have a D850mv mobo that might have bad caps. It started acting erratically the last couple of weeks, hanging up even in the POST and now it won't even POST at all. I called Intel's support line at 800-404-2284 (North America) and explained to them that I might have bad caps and I heard they were a fire hazard. They told me it was out of warranty and they finally told me that they had none to replace my bad one so they are going to send me a refund check! I'm faxing my information over this afternoon and i'll update you later.
