Re: T240 Monitor Backlighting Issue
I talked to the lady friend that gave this to me. She said it turned on for a minute then went blank. Seems longer than the OP and others. ?
I see no visual wire or connection /tubes burns......

Re: T240 Monitor Backlighting Issue
I scraped on the side of the pins and kind of pushed the points of the probes in a bit.
Got readings of 1.006 and 1.012. Don't know if it matters, this board is disconnected from the other board of the unit.

Re: T240 Monitor Backlighting Issue
so the black to pin 1 and red to pin 2 , shows it reading up to 1. and the same for 3+4...
i also looked at the solder with a mag glass and they seem ok , like the other solder points.
I do not see any discolored points or bad caps.

Re: T240 Monitor Backlighting Issue
I am a total beginner. 1+2 , 3+4 is what i thought was to be checked. But the board being different puzzled me, still does. Why would they be different ? Would you tell me what looks bad about those 4 points ? I only have a multi-meter, how/what could i check for the whole board ? I could take this board to a PC repair place that did some solder work for me last month if i am not 'able' to. sorry for all the questions...

Re: T240 Monitor Backlighting Issue
After reading about the OP first post about screen blacking out, and disassembling, seems my board is a bit different. I am looking to check the transformer as shown in reply #4+5.
Any help on what solder points to check for resistance would be greatly appreciated...

Re: where might i find a switch like this ?
the site was unable to complete load, thanks for the diode info.
I am looking for the whole switch though. From what i found in a slide switch so far does not show a diode. Could newer switch not have them ?

where might i find a switch like this ?
It is actually out of a large shop vac.
The slide switch is an off, low, high. After taking it apart a piece from the switch fell out and it was not quite working right lately.
Info on the switch is
13a ac. 125v
.5a dc. 125v
6.5 (H) 250v
... thanks for any help

Re: Philips 37PFL5322D/37 Chirping from psu
what if i replaced the pin plug?, the one with all the little wires,
onto the wrong set or bank of pins ?
i am talking about the two rows next to the 'Badcaps' in the first pic...

Re: Philips 37PFL5322D/37 Chirping from psu
well, a bit disappointed, had a guy at the PC repair shop solder in the two P6KE diodes next to the transformer (ZD902 + ZD904) and the other
UF1007 in the D925 spot.
He also replaced the 3 large caps. with newer FM series. He did not replace the large cap that is by itself. It did not look bad like the others, but he said it was different ? I guess i thought all the caps circled were the same and ordered 4. His work looked good.
So, the tv came on, no chirp, no picture, but it had sound.
Any thoughts on...

Re: Philips 37PFL5322D/37 Chirping from psu
I have my board out and ready to order some parts. I guess i am still looking for clarification on the 3 diodes... zd902 + zd904 next to the transformer are P6ke zeners.
I cannot read or find info for the one at position D925 ? is this a zener diode also ?Last edited by lizzrd; 07-05-2014, 12:48 PM.

Re: Philips 37PFL5322D/37 Chirping from psu
Rereading the thread and checking the pic, one is different. Mr.Bill said he replaced diodes, 2, next to the transformer, location zd902 and zd904.
budm has a link to the 'one' Bill replaced, a snubber circuit? So this is where i am confused. I would like to do all three if i could get another diode part #. Would that be the thing to do ? , again thanks in advance.

Re: Philips 37PFL5322D/37 Chirping from psu
I also have this Philips LCD, really liked it until yesterday. After finding this site and this thread, i am thinking of replacing these caps with the Panasonic FM series.
I do have a question about the 2-3 diodes mentioned on the first page next to the transformer. There is a link to one of them, but i am not sure yet if they are all the same ?
Thanks for anymore info or instructions...
