Yes there are 4 on each, they all say 100 and read 10.5 to 10.6 ohms on the top of the resisters, I could not get a good reading from the cable, and could not figure out a good place to even test them in circuit...

Vertical 1" wide black bars on a plasma
I picked up this daewoo 42" plasma last night (for $25) with about a 1" wide vertical black line about 4 or 5 inches from the left side of the screen looking at it from the front of the set.
inside along the bottom of the screen there are 7 sets of ribbon cables that go to the display
each of those seem to have 4 section that they control, So my problem was with cable #2, section 1 of 4.
so I reseated the 2nd ribbon that controlled this bad section and that did fix the problem however...
shortly after the black bar came back... -
envision tv with white screen fixed
Just thought I would throw this up here. last night (After already about a 16 hour day) a friend came over with a 26" Envision lcd tv, the model is not important the concept of the fix is the point of my post.
anyway he was getting nothing but a white screen most of the time but if he left it on for a long time he would sometimes get lines on the screen.
Removing the flat ribbon cable from the lcd panel and re-installing it repaired the thing.
He is happy and now my 20 year old bev-air 7up refrigerator has been leek tested and repaired (by him)... -
novus plastic polish
Has anyone ever tried it on an LCD panel? I picked up a few non working LCD monitors yesterday(Yay freecycle), Repaired 3 out of 5. but 2 of the ones i fixed have scuffs on the lcd panels. So I was just wondering if anyone had ever tried novus on one? or anything else that may have worked out.
BTW of the two i did not fix, one had a cracked screen and The other one I will be posting pics of soon just in case anyone has any ideas of what to do to fix it. But i think it has at least one bad ccfl and i hate dealing with those anymoreLast edited by dmbj; 01-23-2010, 09:47 AM. -
what do you call the film over backlight pannel
You know the plastic, paper, film stuff that goes between the white backlight panel and the lcd panel.
And also where can you buy that stuff? -

You repaired control panels.
I still to this day repair, restore, un-convert back to original, and collect arcade games. I have 15 mint restored machines in my home and currently have 5 or 6 out in the garage that i am repairing for other people. A lot of people (not me) like the lcd's in there games. and those open frame lcd's are about $450 with the mounting kit from happ controls. For the most part I stick with old school Electohome and Wells Gardner monitor chassis, recap them, swap out the crt...Leave a comment:

I can swap the 2 boards from one panel to the other or mix and match the 4 board in any combination with the 2 panels and there respective ccfl's and the problems follows the inverter boards. So as far as i can tell the bulbs are good in both panels, and the lcds are both good.
The good news is i just got an email from a free cycler that i can pick up an unknown brand 19"er that just went bad the other day for FREE
and its just done the road from home....

These boards just drive me crazy. I have 2 right now. total recap with good caps from the good cap list. replaced all 4 c5707 with tested good new ones (even though one all 4 on one board tested good out of circut the other 4 here bad) re-soldered all points on all transformers, all transistors on heat syncs and anything that even looked suspect. now one still comes up for 2 seconds and the other just has a white screen now. both have a good pico fuse.
FRUSTRATED

Hyundai U90d no screen flash at all
The Green Power light will come on and then go to amber. The screen never flashes on at all. Supposedly this monitor was used for about 3 weeks. and then sat on a shelf for months. IT was made in may 07.
There is a burned up ic on the bottom of the board and i have no clue how to figure out what it was, or what would have caused it to go bad.
FYI: the 12v on the inverter is steady at 11.97v and the 5v is steady at 5.05v There is no 3.3v on this board that i can find.

ok this one has me stumped. I have the front bezel off of it, there are no screws left holding the lcd into the back of the case, but i cant get the panel to come out of the back of the case. anyone out there worked on one of these before?
I'd take a pic but i cant seem to find the cammera right now. I'll call the wife and ask her what she did with it.

I just found this place earlier today and have been reading all morning. first off thanks for all the help so far. anyway while working on some hp 1740 monitors i have found that the c5707's on benq inverter boards (in this case 48.L1G02.A01) often fail.
