Forgive me, I don't mean to hijack this thread.

But have you figured out your problem since your last entry in January?
I'm new to this forum and I have the same Vizio model E422VA TV. It has the same problem you described with your set. I'm convinced my problem is also firmware related. All my voltages are present and everything powers up okay.
