Re: Please Identify this (Levovo Y510P)
thanks, 2R5TPE330M9 shows positive polarity on the capacitor, but the part on the board only shows a thick white line on the right, does that line indicate positive?...

What exactly should i do to fix the problem??
The Monitor and the system are both connected to the same earth wire

Grounding
i have managed to ground my pc..now whenever i connect something like my monitor to the VGA port or the printer to the parallel port i can see very tiny sparks, is it normal or did i grounded the system wrong?

Re: Grounding soldering Iron
it really is cheap.the handle is made of plastic..the metallic body should be connected to ground through a resistor???

Grounding soldering Iron
Will connecting the tip of a soldering iron to ground, ground it?...or is there anything else to be done

Re: Unidentifiable
Well its not about the price, this charger was just lying useless, just wanted to get some experience in repairing stuff

Re: Unidentifiable
Any recommendation?
The charger is rated as 5v/890mA

Unidentifiable
Sorry for posting in the wrong section
can someone help in identifying this transistor type thing, it has no markings on it or on the pcb from where it came, its fried (short on all pins)..
came from a NOKIA AC-4E charger

if yes then what changes has to be made to the circuit?

Re: Fuse CONFUSE
well,i got it fixed, but was confused in the sequence in which the fuses went out..its clear now..thanx

Re: Fuse CONFUSE
The 5A Fuse is located inside the plug whereas the 3.15A Fuse is located just before the rectifier inside the adaptor..does this means that 3.15A fuse failed to do its job?

Fuse CONFUSE
recently my laptop power adaptor died, when i tested the external fuse (5A-250V) it was blown not knowing that the bridge rectifier has shorted i replaced the fuse with a wire and plugged it back in,there was a spark and the adaptor died again. When i opened the adaptor i found another fuse with a rating of 3.15A-250V which was also blown..Now the confusion is that shouldn't the internal fuse have blown out first due to lower rating..If it had blown first there wouldn't have been a spark when i replaced the external fuse with a wire...Both fuses are in series.

Simple Electronics?
i am pretty confused on this, suppose that i have a 6V DC motor that consumes lets say 5W (supposition),now what happens when i connect it through a resistor to the same 6V battery off course it will run slower due to the resistor but is the power requirement the same???..ie
power absorbed by resistor+power absorbed by motor=power absorbed by motor without resistor

Battery Confusion
Iam pretty confused with battery voltage ratings, may it be any battery.
For example a fully charged 3V battery always shows a higher terminal voltage with a DMM but when it expires it gives a reading of 3V ,shouldn't it give a DMM reading of 3V when charged and below 3 when dead?

Re: Switch??
a breaker would do this only if there is some kind of short or some other problem..i want it done under normal condition..
For example my braun shaver does exactly this,it runs of an adapter it has an on/off switch on itself but when the adapter is switched off and back on the shaver wont turn on until the button on the shaver is pressed again

Switch??
What is the name of the switch/circuit which disconnects the load when a power outage occurs and wont reconnect even if power comes back until a button is pressed
