just back to say thank you.
My replacement T-Con board just arrived today(20 days to ship all the way from the U.S!) and it solved my problem. Thank you to everyone that helped
Okay, so I'm going to buy a replacement TCON board and hope for the best.
Just a question before I go ahead:
The original board in my TV is a T370HW02 V402 37T04-C02.
I've found a number of listings on eBay for the following:
T420HW02 V0 42T04-C04
T370HW02 V7 37T04-C07
All of these claim that they are a perfect substitute for my board. I've found quite a few listings for T420HW02 V0 42T04-C04 that are from reputed sellers and at a good price. Can I go ahead and get that board?...
okay, alright thanks. I'll try to get the readings for the AS-15 tomorrow. Either way, trying out the replacement of the TCON board for $58 is a much better idea than spending $340 to replace the entire LCD panel.
no, no, I'm sorry for the incomplete information. I took that shot with no input connected so as to show the problem with the backlight leak. The picture is the same as before- solarized as in the photos in the first post. The backlight leakage is something additional that I had never noticed before. It COULD always have been there, but I doubt it. I guess that shouldn't be my biggest concern right now, unless its related to the problem at hand.
I did just remove the back cover and the metal cover over the TCON board. I'm a newbie to Electronics let alone LCD TVs and its quite a late hour so I didn't remove the board itself.
I only noted the TCON board number, it's the same one as the one in the link above- T370HW02 V402 37T04-C02.
I even found it on eBay here http://www.ebay.com/itm/new-original-AUO-T-Con-T370HW02-V402-Ctrl-BD-37T04-C02-Logic-Board-new-/231202732929.
I don't think I'm skilled enough to actually solder an IC and...
I've a 37" Samsung LA37A550P1R that suddenly started showing weird colors(gamma problem?) when I turned it on the other day.
I called the Samsung Service center and their guy merely checked a few voltages on the main board, and so much as peeked at the TCon board before concluding that I'd have to get the entire LCD panel replaced!
My problem seems very similar to this https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=33032
How can I confirm that its the Tcon board and not the panel or the connectors?
Hello to all,
I seem to have the exact same problem with my 37" Samsung LCD TV. Model No. LA37A550P1R.
I called the Samsung Service center and their guy merely checked a few voltages on the main board, and so much as peeked at the TCon board before concluding that I'd have to get the entire LCD panel replaced!
According to him, they don't replace(nor test, it seems) just the Tcon board but instead only offer to change the whole damn panel(along with the Tcon board) for Rs 20,000($340 approx),...
