OK. So the TV has been running for around 2 1/2 hours with the backlight set to minimum. Every other time it usually switched off the backlights around the 2hr mark. Where from here?Leave a comment:

All,
Having an issue with the backlight of a family members Television.
TV turns on fine and works fine. Around 2hrs into operation the backlights are shutdown. On the power supply board the LED in the board flashes 4 times. Then repeats.
I have checked all outputs as per service manual and they are spot on. The LED+ GND tes points measures around 76v when operating, but once the backlight drops out it measures 71.3v.
I originally thought it was a dry solder on the power board, but after replacing with a new board its still playing up.... -

Hi all,
Bringing up an old topic. I ended up reflowing the main chip on the main board. With success. It lasted for a while and died again. I reflowed it again and it worked.
The problem I'm having now is that FTA is not working. Which is weird since I never touched it. I had a look at the service manual and there's a listed procedure to check to see if there's power to tuner. But the problem is that since my version is a TA not a UE (service manual version) the test point dosent exist on my board.

Ok. Bringing up my old topic. The problem returned. Today I pulled the whole receiver apart. Took out all the cards. Tested the filter capacitors, all good. Powered it back up. Still humming. Even via the headphone. So I assumed it was a ground problem.
So I went through all the grounds and made sure whilst assembling it I checked every ground pad and ground. Plus anything that had a screw attached to the chassis. It's all back together and zero humming. So I'm guessing it was a ground on one of the cards to the chassis.

I just checked leg 10 on ic602 (micom). It is the inv_ctl. Measuring 3.5v. I'm stumped.

All the voltages on the OS module opt are measuring correct as per the above diagram.
