PSU fix definitely seems to be working. While you can't really tell in that picture, that corner did look like my windows desktop, and it powered right up, so I definitely don't think it's a board issue at the moment, and I suspected from when i actually tore it apart something like this MIGHT'VE happened....

So this is probably a crazy idea but I wanna look into seeing if I can go ahead and replace the screen but I'm having difficulty finding a source for full size screen replacements. Plenty of laptop screens, but nothing for desktop screens anyone have any suggestions?Leave a comment:

One last set of pre-op questions. On the back of the board, there is a seemingly significant amount of solder like material in lines going from place to place, is that something i need to be concerned with melting away? or is it something that has a higher melting point than solder will?Leave a comment:

with cheapest shipping @ 8 oz (I can't image 5 caps weigh more than a half pound) it's ~22 bucks.
I don't really know a good brand from a bad one, I thought I had seen the name Amico somewhere though, not sure if it was on digikey, or something else.
