Re: LG 60PS80-UA Plasma: All HDMI Inputs Show "No Signal"
tom66 & other awesome Badcaps gurus:
10 months after successfully replacing the main board on this LG 60PS80 the blue streaks are back (another issue fixed by replacing the main board in addition to the HDMI input problem listed above).
I don't mind (too much!) replacing the board again, but is there something else that could be causing the main board to fail in this manner?
Thanks for your thoughts and comments.
Also - tom66 -- you published a list...

Re: LG 60PS80-UA Plasma: All HDMI Inputs Show "No Signal"
tom66 and others,
I bought a 50PS80-UA board from eBay and popped it in last night -- works perfectly. Looks like the LG plasma lives to fight another day.
Thanks for your help. What an awesome forum; and tom66 in particular you really helped me go for it -- I wouldn't (and couldn't) have done this without you.
God bless you,
D. R.
P.S. -- for someone with no TV tech background, this really was simple. LG and others have made it fairly easy to repair...

Re: LG 60PS80-UA Plasma: All HDMI Inputs Show "No Signal"
splitcrete -- thanks for the input;
1.) All HDMI inputs went out at once, so not a cable (and I tried a new one just in case)
2.) Do you have a link to the Shop Jimmy part? Their EBT60722601 shows out of stock and they have never carried EBT60722602. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Re: LG 60PS80-UA Plasma: All HDMI Inputs Show "No Signal"
tom66 - as always thanks for your selfless help! The boards do look identical; I guess it's worth $80 to take a shot anyway.
We don't use any advanced features on the TV - the circa 2009 LG widgets don't add much functionality...
I'll just buy the 50PS80 board and see how that works unless you have any last-minute misgivings...
Thanks again and God bless you,
D. R.

Re: LG 60PS80-UA Plasma: All HDMI Inputs Show "No Signal"
tom66 & others:
I have the back off my TV -- wow was that fun!
The main board part number is EBT60722602 for the 60PS80-UA-AUSLLJR (service code).
There are no used boards out there for this model that I can find. However, there are plenty of EBT60722601 boards on Ebay for the 50PS80. They look identical in terms of ports.
Is there anychance they are interchangeable?
I'd appreciate any input. Paying $80 - $100 for a used board is reasonable...

Re: LG 60PS80-UA Plasma: All HDMI Inputs Show "No Signal"
tom66, et al,
I did find a place to reset HDMI inputs on EDID/IL. Did that, it said "rewriting" for all the ports, then showed OK - but no help.
tom66 or other knowledgeable techs -- is there any specialized knowledge I'll need to replace the main board - any manuals, etc. to use?
On tom66's site I found a powerpoint training manual on the 50PS60 which is a similar but not identical model...
Thanks for all the help! You folks are awesome. ...

Re: LG 60PS80-UA Plasma: All HDMI Inputs Show "No Signal"
tom66 - thanks for the quick reply.
I can get to the "hidden" or service menu using the steps you described (passcode 0000). But there is no factory reset or other reset in any of the 10 options, at least that I can find... Frustrating!
Thanks again and God bless you,
D.R.

LG 60PS80-UA Plasma: All HDMI Inputs Show "No Signal"
Anyone familiar with this issue? Thanks for any help!
While watching the TV through an HDMI1 input (cable box), screen went to "no signal" screen saver mode and will now not accept input from any of the HDMI ports. When I switch inputs, it says "HDMI2 Connecting..." and then back to "no signal" - the same for all 4 HDMI ports. It recognizes that an outside device is trying to connect -e.g. turning on the blu ray DVD player - prompts the TV to ask if I want to change input to HDMI3. When I click yes, it says "HDMI3 connecting..." then "no...

Re: Factory Resets Listing
Does anyone know the factory reset sequence for a LG 60PS80-UA plasma? I can get into service mode by pressing the menu button on the TV and the remote simultaneously for a few seconds and then entering 0000 as the PIN.
Among the many options there, I can't find any that seem to be a factory reset.
Thanks for any input!
God bless you,
D. R.

Re: LG 50PS80 plasma: Moving rows/array of blue dots in black
Hello Tom66 - Happy New Year!
I have not yet replaced the board to get rid of blue streaks on the black background; but at least it has not gotten worse.
However, I do have a new problem, while watching the TV through an HDMI input (cable box), it went to "no signal" screen saver mode and will now not accept input from any of the HDMI ports. When I switch inputs, it says "HDMI2 Connecting..." and then back to "no signal" - the same for all 4 HDMI...

Re: LG 50PS80 plasma: Moving rows/array of blue dots in black
Wow tom66 -- SPECTACULARLY fast reply! Thanks!!
Really appreiate the info. I'll get the courage up to take all those screws off and get at it...
One quick revision -- it seems that the blue dot syndrome is now fading then going away after the set has been on a while. I'm assuming this may be heat related, but that's just an educated guess.
Also -- any thoughts on where to find used parts other than googleing the part number?
Thanks again and God bless you (again).

Re: LG 50PS80 plasma: Moving rows/array of blue dots in black
For tom66 or other knowledgeable folks out there:
I have the EXACT same problem (blue dots aligned in horizontal stripes on all the black backgrounds) as traderx did with his LG 50PS80. However, I have the 60PS80 instead of the 50PS80. Two questions:
1.) Can I assume the same solution (replace main board)?
2.) If 1.) is a "yes" Is there a way to find the main board part number and a relatively inexpensive used main board?
TV works great in all other respects......
