Re: Lg lg50pg20
It appears that none of the voltages are missing.

Lg lg50pg20
I've never touched a plasma set before. This is entirely new territory.
I was told that "we were watching it, it went "click" and turned off. It makes sound, but no video."
I checked the fuses inside, and none of them are blown.
Photos of the boards, forthcoming.

Re: Samsung 32" ln32b360c5d
I'm going to have to shelve this for the moment. I slipped and broke one of the inverter transformers. And, I couldn't have been lucky and broken the one that read reading off, of course not...
I'll revisit this once I get replacements.

Re: Samsung 32" ln32b360c5d
Sorry, I should have been more clear. Of course the TV has to be plugged in. I was referring to the PS board plugged into the set (attached to the CCFLs). Or, if I could just flip the board over, and take a direct reading of the 1.63V reference voltage....

Re: Samsung 32" ln32b360c5d
Done. End of a piece of wire soldered to the left side of RI816.
Black lead on meter to ground, red lead to wire.
Reading -0.01 when power is first applied, 0.00 after the lamp shuts off.
If I read what you wanted me to do, above, correctly, I should take the wire and attach it to ground, correct? It didn't do anything new....

Re: Acer AL1916W Ab Monitor, DAC-19M008 - No Backlight, Recapped, Can see with Flashl
Agreed! I need to make up a CCFL bulb tester, too. There's one I've seen floating around the 'net for like $15 that does bulbs up to 40", IIRC, but if I could make one out of scraps, instead...
Found the link! https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19987
I don't think that I have any "bad" CCFL at the moment, but using one out of the box isn't cost prohibitive, in VT they're generally only a buck.Re: Acer AL1916W Ab...

Re: Acer AL1916W Ab Monitor, DAC-19M008 - No Backlight, Recapped, Can see with Flashl
Sounds like a good idea. But, the CCFLs that I just pulled for this - the ends are black. Inside, not outside. That means that they're bad, right? This was from a 15" monitor that I decided to not troubleshoot, but turned it into a digital projector, instead....

I think I have an otherwise bad panel that I can take these from....

If I've done this correctly (verified high resistance (VERY high resistance)) then they're still okay....

Re: Dell E193FPc
Yes! Bud, you are the MAN! When I was looking at things, before, I thought that it was strange that the 5V should be on one side of the connector, but flip-flopped on the other side.
I'm not the first person to have their hands in this. And, when I put it back together the first time, I put everything back how I found it. Including the connector @ CN103. Which was backward!
I didn't question it, because, well...
1) it's keyed. And,
2) when wires sit in a position for an amount of time, they want to fall into that...

Re: Samsung 32" ln32b360c5d
In your diagram you have both "B" and "FB" circled. And, there's more than one of them. Do they all reference the same point, but on different places on the board?
I've been trying to figure out where one of the FB points is. For example, I see that one comes off RI875. That seems to go to off and fork, toward QI814 and RI818.
I figured I'd check the voltage at pin six of UI802 (ref v should be 1.63V) but since it's on the bottom, how do I check it with it plugged into the lamps? Or,...

Re: Dell E193FPc
It's reading in the MEGA Ohms. Red lead to Drain, black lead on the fuse on the TCON. So, somewhere, I've got a break, correct?...

Re: Dell E193FPc
So...
Source = 5.06V
Gate = .08V
Drain = 5.06V
That's without the LCD panel attached. Working on that, now...

Do I need to have a running PC if this is one of those monitor which is "always on" when it's on?

Re: Dell E193FPc
Tested the voltages coming off of Q104, here are my results.
I don't know which pin relates to B/C/E, so I included this photo to illustrate what I'm looking at.
Top pin - 5.06V.
Left pin - 0.08V
Right pin - 5.06V.
Does that mean that the 5V is being interrupted somewhere upline?...

I'll start with CN802.
16 GND - 0
15 GND - 0
14 DET_5V - 0
13 EPWM - 5.01
12 INVERTER_ON/OFF - 4.46
11 13V - 13.2
10 13V - 13.2
09 GND - 0
08 5.3V - 5.28
07 5.3V - 5.28
06 GND - 0
05 GND - 0
04 13V - 13.19
03 GND - 0
02 - 5.3V -5.28
01 - POWER_ON/OFF - 2.15

Re: Samsung 32" ln32b360c5d
Should I be checking the voltages at CN802, or @ TM801S?

Re: Dell E193FPc
Found them both. Testing them in circuit also gives some odd results.
They're really small, and in a bad spot. I don't have the equipment to replace them properly.
