Right chaps, finished work early, house to my self, aerial cable shoved through open door & t.v stays on..... after an hour, t.v is still on and all i well.
I then disconnect the aerial lead, "NO SIGNAL" and in 10 mins shuts off....
I then plug aerial back in, turn back on out of stand by and stays on for 30 mins plus
Samsung must use a safe mode for 'NO Input' found. Worth remembering chaps. Just need paying now for parts. Thanks for all input by all. xxx
lol, as tv is outside i used lead through crack in door from my tv to test last night, all working fine and great pics, all programs auto scanned and saved. tonight i thought just give it another power up but as my mrs was moaning about the cold draft i had no aerial lead through the crack in door. This is when i found that after ten mins or so it shuts off. I did go through the menus and turn off most obvious things relating to power save etc..... also graham i have run an hot iron over the fets etc last week ....bleeding tele....
So now that I have my Samsung plasma working, and don't have an Arial plugged into it as testing power on for a while it turns off after 10 minutes, is this a stand by thing so that if no input is found for 10 minute it turns off as a power saver type thing? Or more dodgy things going on? Cheer.
There is a GOD...... I've just had a final look before taking to tip tomorrow and like you said Graham as I have read on other sites, shorted out PS-ON & rtn pin next door and 2 quick clicks from relays, then a click as short released..... plugged all the leads back in to p.s.u.............. shove the mains lead in and click click and T.V is on.... all the menus work and no unusual looking lines or anything, just need to get a aerial lead up its back side and hopefully its a good one........ Maybe the relays just needed a good short....

Sorry Tom, very frustrated with this t.v, replaces all caps & now have stand by 5 volts as before it was totally dead, and if you search thread "samsung plasma dead" and look for me "grabcol" there is all the info from previous thread. £40 into this so far.. addictive lol
So guy's I replaced all caps and power board is still dead, and t.v, but now have 5.23 volts at the stand-by pin.... the other 5.3 volt pins on the connector are no volts,
any ideas?????
No voltage present, do you know what diode zd8803 is spec wise or is there a schematic that i can look at on the web site as a pdf type thing......, I.m going to replace al caps as they are well know for a bad manufacture used by samsung.....
I'm reasonably confident that X & Y sus are ok. deffo no 5 or 12 volt from psu, no clicking... is it worth just changing all electrolitic caps.... I will post pic of psu tomorrow... Thanks for your input Alistair & I know its hard with out a pic to have a ref of what i have ... cheers
