I have a Panasonic TC-P50U50 that has the 8 blinks of death/won't turn on. Thanks to the posts in this thread [url]https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=32594[/url], I was able to determine that I've got an SS board that is bad, thanks to a loose screw at the top that was holding it on. Arcing marks all over the place.

My question to those of you out there that have dealt with this set: Is it worth spending the $170 for the TXNSS1SDUU/SS board from pstc.panasonic (as I can't seem to find anywhere else that sells these boards), or take it to a repair place and see if they...

Hello!

I want to say how excellent this site has been for a beginner like me. I have years of experience in IT/networking/building PCs, but have never taken a TV apart. These forums and the users who post have given me the knowledge and confidence to crack open my (barely) out of warranty TV and take a look around.
