I have done many Probook 650 G1 before, it's best to desolder the IC.
It should be possible to solder the IC on the PCB where your IC clip is connected to....

HP ProBook 650 G8 - Endpoint Security Controller Problem
Hello,
I have a HP Probook 650 G8 with the error "There is a problem with the HP Endpoint Security Controller on the unit."
After searching on the forum I've opened the device to check what IC's were on the motherboard and I found some corrosion on the pins of the EC ROM.
So my guess is that the EC got corrupted?
After some more searching on the forum I've found some other threads where this issue was brought up after they removed the password, this is not the case here, the laptop did not have any password and I did not modify the... -

Thanks for the response, i'm fairly new to Uefitool and editing bios files. Do you have any tips where I can find information/tutorial on how to find/extract that specific region and import it into a clean bios?
I was thinking of something that's more automated. If it is even possible.
I don't have any issues with G6.
That's indeed what I'm looking for. Is this something you made yourself?

Amazing tool, I find the information display very usefull.
I use it when i have a bios that is corrupt but still has the info about the system.
This way I can read the info and use it to reprogram the laptop with a clean bios dump using wndmifit.
Would it be possible to add a feature so it can write the info ( Model, Serial, Feature byte, COA, ...) to a text file? Or even better, to write that information to a clean bios dump?
