Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
I got the board yesterday afternoon. It was very easy to install, and the picture is perfect.
Thank everyone so much for your help.
If anyone is interested in the old SC board please let me know.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
I am still waiting for the board to arrive. I had to re-order from Panasonic, Sears parts direct made a mistake and did not have that part.

I would not need the old board. You are more than welcome to it if you arrange shipping.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
Sears Parts Direct will be sending me this board about $180.00. Will there be any adjustments to make or will changing the board be all that is required?

I will have to take the back off again to get better pictures of the "REFDES" (wife was getting grouchy about the repair shop in her living room)

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
there are 3 small capacitors in the area I heated and cooled to initiate the fault. would they be the suspect?

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
this board seems pretty tough to get for a TV that is less than 4 years old.

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
Checked online and can only find a repair kit for that board. The kit says it is for most problems with the SC board but lists blinking fault codes which mine did not have.
could this work?
"The Panasonic TXNSC1LQUU SC Board Component Repair Kit includes all necessary components to repair common failures on the main SC board. Symptoms include will not turn on and power light will blink 4, 5 or 7 times."
Specifications: Kit Includes
Description Quantity Board Location
Transistors 8 Included...

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
There are a couple of part numbers on the board. Can you tell me which to use? Also, where can I find the prefix? I think it is a TNPA5105 but no prefix....

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
Yes the new board will probably be the best solution as my soldering skills are not the best and will be unable to obtain an oscilloscope. Do you know a good place to get a new board will be? Will there be any adjustments to make after changing the board or will simply swapping for a new one be sufficient?

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
It is on this board. I think it is the SC. I have no idea what a VSET or INIT-F is....

Re: Panasonic TC-P50S2 Snowy Picture
I can get the problem to occur and clear by heating or cooling this section of the SC board....
