Re: Abit NF7
I've since replaced that cap, and sold the board. Works great for me, and the current owner. Thanks for the insight on this cap issue!

Re: Abit NF7
no spinning of fans, etc probably means its toast. I have the AGP cap problem on my NF7-S v2, and all fans spin and my SB is fine.
With my ATI x800xl AGP there is no display, and with my backup NVIDIA GF4 MX it displays the BIOS diagnostic screen (only sometimes) and detects memory, but will go no further, it just freezes there.
So I would say that you have a bad SB chip and not to bother with the cap replacement since it seems that your SB is not functioning at all....Last edited by dchrsf; 09-09-2009, 08:52 AM.

Re: Bad Caps on Abit NF7-S v2.0 (Australia)
Same board as you, the NF7-S V2.0 and have been running at main computer for years now after I got it used. I have zero bad caps.....because they are all Rubycon or United Chemicon like yours. I doubt that is the problem, the NF7-S boards are solid cap wise, look elsewhere maybe.
Going to sleep!

Re: Motherboard recommendations???
Asus boards are usually very solid, but I'd look up some reviews then choose on price and which features your need.
Cap wise, Asus is usually ok along with Abit.
