The manual does show a mechanical thermostat and a digital timer as optional extras on page 8
The on switch/rheostat I'm planning to use is this one here on page 17 if you can advise on wiring this in?

Re: Panasonic 42" plasma screen TH-42PZ82BA cheap fix?
Right had a play about this evening, If I leave off A5/6/7 the LEds on the SC/SS boards light up. When I plug just 6&7 in the relay kicks in if I plug in A5 on it's own nothing happens.
Now when all 3 are plugged in the LED's on the SC/SS board fail to light up. swapped the SC board/and A board over and still get the same fault the A board that I ordered seems to be U/S as this gives off the flashing lights as mentioned. is it looking like a power board fault? The power board looks as if it's had a 10...

Not gone back to the orginal boards etc yet, However it's odd that when the new A board is fitted I get the 7 blinks, counted them a few times to make sure what the flashes were,
However when I fit the old board back in I get the rapid green light at the front then goes solid but won't power up? Can hear the relays click twice though.

Re: Panasonic 42" plasma screen TH-42PZ82BA cheap fix?
Looks like I've dropped a clanger and ordered the SC board for the TH-42PZ80B instead of the TH-42PZ80BA the correct board I should have ordered was the TNP A4657 instead I've got the TNP A4410 both look very similar and have the same mounting positions/pins and cable/ribbon connections would gthis work or not worth the gamble?

Ok cheers will try and measure later however when I switch on the TV I get these small green LEDs appear on each board then they gradually get fainter then disappear is this normal?
The SC board will be to the left hand side looking at it from the rear?...

Re: Panasonic 42" plasma screen TH-42PZ82BA cheap fix?
I'll double check tonight after work never noticed the light did wonder what it was for though! TBH I just installed some screws on the D/Main board in case I had to strip it down again all ribbons etc look to be in missed one first time around. DO I need to have all the screws installed on these boards above first?
Haven't touched the buffer boards so the screws should still be in place.

Re: Panasonic 42" plasma screen TH-42PZ82BA cheap fix?
Right new board came today plugged it in and...nothing can hear the relay kick in and the power button goes green blinking rapidly for a bit then clicks off and goes back to the 7 red lights re-tried the old board as well and now getting same result. Have I missed doing something when swapping over etc
