Re: View Sonic n4060w (VS10846-1M) NO POWER
I will have to check that out. I listed Pin 1 as the one on the left. Also I have nothing at CNS3.
EDIT - I am a little slow...I do not have a connection at CNS2. My readings above are for CNS3. Sorry

Re: View Sonic n4060w (VS10846-1M) NO POWER
No indication for the connectors
Bud. I saw that thread. I will try some of those things. But mine does not have any indicator light when plugged in. Also that has a connection at CNS3. So i dont know if mine will be like that one or not.
When i measured the big cap it was with it plugged in and no buttons pushed. I will recheck to see if any of the values change when i hit the power button.

View Sonic n4060w (VS10846-1M) NO POWER
I picked this tv up the other day and just now got to it. I plug in the TV and there is no standby light and there is no response from the buttons. I immediately think of the power supply. After reading some things I check the fuse and then the voltages.
Fuse is good
V across big cap - 357-359v
CNS1:
Pin 1 - 0.3v
Pin 2-12 - 0v
CNS2:
Pin 1-9 - 0V
Pin 10 - 5v
Pin 11 - 5v
Pin 12 - 0v
Pin 13 - 0.3v
I then recapped the entire secondary side. No change to the readings. Am I wrong...

Re: Samsung UN55B6000VFXZA bad panel?
the way it is rippling out from a central point (at least thats what i think i see) makes it seem like something either hit the screen or bumped into it.

Insignia NS-L46X-10A White Screen
I ordered a "new" t-con and it did not help. I later learned from this forum about the AS15 chip on this t-con. How do I test to see if my original and the second t-con I bought is defective.
I have attached a picture of the t-con...

Re: insignia ns-l42q-10a White Layer on Picture
I don't mean to bring up an old thread, but my TV has this same thing. I ordered a new T-Con and it did not change. Is there a way to test the chip? I am at work and really have no idea if my t-con even has this chip.
I might just start a new thread when I get back home.

Philips 42pf9630a/37 weird screen issue
Sorry that I have to do it this way (my computer wont let me upload new pics right now).
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=47608&highlight=42pf9630a%2F37
This is an older thread I started about this TV. Thought it was a bad panel but thought what the hey and threw up the question here on bad caps. As per the old thread I located a "new" Z sustain board (called an XSUS with Samsung) but the problem is still occurring. The screen is just red and black. You can barely make out anything on the screen. Any ideas?Sorry that I have to

Is this a sign of a bad philips plasma panel?
I changed out the filter caps that were suggested in another post (set was completely dead). Changed them and the set came alive. Well sort of. I have attached an image....

Westinghouse lvm-42w2 only standby voltage
So my buddy gave me this tv to look at because it would not turn on. Specifically when it is plugged in the light on the front (a ring with a w) is lit. Once the power button is pressed the light goes off and the set clicks with nothing on the screen. I opened the set to test voltages from the power supply and only read the 5v standby voltage. I then removed the board and tested the components i could test (diodes fuses etc) and came across these readings on the two (i think) mosfet transistors.

Does the Tcon board need the metal shield?
So I stupidly misplaced the metal shield for a tcon board that I am replacing. Should I not install and run the tv without it or will it be ok? Thanks in advance for the help

Re: Vizio xvt553sv Freezes on splash screen
Usually the freezing of the splash screen is an EPROM issue on the main board. At least that's the case with the ones I've had.

Panasonic TC-p42x1 half screen black
got this tv a little while ago and finally got around to looking at it. Half screen looks great. Other half is completely black. Sound still works. I replaced the bottom buffer for that side already with no change. Could this be a bad panel? Or bad ribbon connectors?

Re: LG 42PJ350 Starts, Shuts down, won't restart
I have the same tv in my TO-DO pile. The guy I got it from tried the power board repair (crudely I might add) but that didnt work. I traced the problem to the Y SUS board and a few components including a transistor and a resistor. I havent had time lately to replace or check further. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Panasonic TH-42PZ77U 10 Blink status
I just started working on this tv and found some helpful advice from some of the other threads. First this had a 7 blink SOS status. I found a shorted FET on the SC board. I lifted both legs and replaced the board to see if it would turn on. The TV now has a 10 blink SOS status. I unhooked the SC board from the power supply and no more blinking. I then replaced just the top (SC2) connector and tried again, no blinks (solid red light). Only when I connect the bottom connector (SC20) does the 10 blink SOS status start. I think I followed this wire to the tuner board (DG?). Does this probably mean...

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ77U SC board repair 7 blinks
Hi guys. Thanks for the advice from this thread. I found a bad FET and lifted both legs from the board and plugged it in to see if it powers up. Unfortunatly, now I get 10 blinks. I disconnected the SC board again and the blinking stoped. I plugged in just the top connector SC2 and no blinking. Only when I plugged in the bottom connector (SC20) did the 10 blinks start. I think I followed this to the tuner board (DG?). Does this probably mean that the DG board is dead?

General question about circuit design (power supply board)
so I have 2 different tvs that each have a flaw on the power supply. Each keeps blowing it's fuse. The one I quick tested some components and noticed a transistor that could be faulty. Pulled it but it was ok. Out of curiosity I put my probes on the pads that the transistor sits on and two of them tested positive for continuity.
The other power supply was similar with a diode. It tested fine out of circuit but the pads them selves were continuous.
So my question is do the positive tests for continuity on the pads of the circuit board cause the fuse to blow and if...
