Re: LG 50LN5400 Screen Flash Standby Go's Out
Turns out the power supply is not at fault. A replacement did not fix the problem.

Re: LG 50LN5400 Screen Flash Standby Go's Out
Yes wide open is 000 same as touching leads together, one leg of r263 r264 and read 1 and other read 0 (by the trans) R251-R253 all read 000 one leg and level off in the 900's on the other leg. R822 R804 both pinkish in color read open to ground on both sides. This is all done with my black probe on the screw holding the power supply, and red taking readings. Let me know if I still have to remove the one leg and test again!

Re: LG 50LN5400 Screen Flash Standby Go's Out
As promised here are some photos, the diodes appear to check out ok, I get infinite reading on the output of power supply to the screen LED's, R804 in the upper right side of the power supply is wide open, with LED's plugged in or not! Caps appear ok, I see northing that screams bad!...Last edited by coppercitycomputer; 06-04-2015, 06:48 AM.

LG 50LN5400 Screen Flash Standby Go's Out
Greetings I have a LG 50LN5400 that when plugged in gives a red stand by LED then when you hit the power button the screen flash's for just a micro sec then the LED fades/go's out, pushing the power button again with the LED off will make the screen flash then the LED will come back on and stay on. And sometime /other times the LED will do a slow fade like a start up fade, then the screen flash's then the led go's out!
Made in May of 2014. I have not gotten the back off yet, thought some of you might know right off hand or if it's a common problem! I will remove the back torrmow...

Re: Panasonic Plasma TCP42X1 Won't Power On!
Ya I have muilt-meter, skills are rather limited. Caps all look fine to me. Voltage from PSU is 193v on the board shown with the muiltmeter and then 173v & 193v on the orther board.
How long of a pause? It will blink pause blink pause. Need me to shoot a vid of it?
EDIT: Voltage will hold for a few secs, then drop out quickly after the relay clicks....Last edited by coppercitycomputer; 08-28-2014, 03:08 PM.

Re: Panasonic Plasma TCP42X1 Won't Power On!
Problem is correct, plug unit in, hit the power button two clicks, waits a few secs then one click to off, then the LED just starts doing a slow steady flash. No signs of life from the screen.Last edited by coppercitycomputer; 08-28-2014, 01:58 PM.

Re: Pyramid PS-26KX Benchtop Power Supply Problems
Budm, I will have to drag out my soldering iron, to do that. The reading is about 1200 on red to blue. The one that did not get warm has all it's wires connected (far left) 2nd from the left is the one missing a connection. No relay clicks just chirping from the little beeper. and the protection light flash's each time it chirps.

Re: Pyramid PS-26KX Benchtop Power Supply Problems
Budm, you are correct, the readings between any RED and BLUE are the same. That wire was disconnected when I removed the heat sink off the back, but I can not be sure it was like that when I got it or I knocked lose taking it apart.

Re: Pyramid PS-26KX Benchtop Power Supply Problems
STJ, They all check constantly expect the one that does not get warm. The last one on the left, I get about 500 on the blue wire and about 18 on yellow wire expect on the last one the blue is about 1500. I was testing to the red wire, doing the case got me nothing on any of them....

Re: Pyramid PS-26KX Benchtop Power Supply Problems
Bud M, I get about 640 set on the continuity setting on my meter, between the pos and neg outputs on the front of the supply.
STJ, I am sorry but I did not understand a thing you said besides make sure none of the 2n3055's are shorted. How do I check or test them? My knowledge is pretty limited.

Pyramid PS-26KX Benchtop Power Supply Problems
Greetings! My boss gave me a Pyramid PS-26KX bench-top power supply to repair. It's 6-15VDC at 25AMP. The problem is the protection light flash's and it chirps over and over again. The AMP meter also max's out. It has four large 2N3772's on the back heat sink. I did some investigating and three of the large transistors get pretty hot quickly in the matter of a few secs, also something labeled TYN416 gets "smoking" hot at the same time, the center leg of that part is discolored. I also found one of the wires that go's to one of the 2N3772's disconnected, I can not be sure it did not brake...Last edited by coppercitycomputer; 05-21-2014, 02:51 PM.

Hitachi/Apple CRT No Color, Half Picture, Green Line
Greetings, I will let the photos do the talking. It produces a loud high voltage buzzing noise, I heard a popping noise once and then the picture shrunk and then came back.
I would like to repair this. Thanks for any and all help. Model is M2943 15" Muilt-scan. It's made in December of 1995 from a Mac 7200/100....Last edited by coppercitycomputer; 05-04-2014, 10:07 AM.
