Need help to determine cap type
Hi all
I am working right now on a Klipsch ProMedia V2-400 amp that I got on Craigslist. As some might know this amp has for each channel an individual amp pcb.
Here is what happened:
I replaced the usual suspects like underrated and non-functional resistors on the DC to DC and Digital Converter. As soon as I turned it on, cap C22 on one of the amp-boards went into smoke.
I assume that this particular board had already a prior issue which killed an underrated resistor (which acted then as fuse) on the DC-DC converter....Last edited by Hoss; 08-07-2014, 07:01 PM.

Re: Your Best Dumpster Finds
As long as you have enough time to comment on dumpster finds, I don`t think you are too busy.
Sorry folks, couldn't resist ...

Re: Inno3D nVidia GTX 285 No Power (PC)
I think you need to focus on the GPU. The 200 series is known for getting as hot as a furnace.
Many fixed their cards with a reflow, but if you can get it somewhere reballed for cheap that would be of course better.Last edited by Hoss; 04-06-2014, 11:17 PM.

Re: Dell Inspiron 570 Desktop
Agree. The GPU probably needs reballed.

Re: Imac G5 - Issue or not?
Do NOT rely on the power supply being ok if the first LED lights up.
9 out of 10 bad power supplies will light up the first LED.
