Samsung LS19A100, slowed down, colors changed, lines not very crisp
In the above mentioned monitor, I removed the plug a few times and this resulted no power.
I opened it, soldered the dc jack and worked again.
But since then colors have changed, too bright (or something like this) and lines, eg letter, are not very crisp as they used to be, they are vague, like faded out.
I checked voltages on the main board, they look ok (according to the service manual. It' attached at the bottom):
IC600 (D9329)
pin 1 (BST) 9.6V
pin 2 (VIN) 13.5V
pin 3 (SW(Switching output)) 4.8V
pin 7 (EN)
pin 8 (SS) 2.6V
IC601...

Re: BIOS file for HP Compaq 615
Well...it worked!!
I did heat it (no reflow, just heat) with a heat gun, reassembled and it works!
I didn't expect this to succeed!
Now, how long will this keep working, I don't know.
Maybe hours, maybe days, maybe months?

Re: BIOS file for HP Compaq 615
Ok, I won't do excactly what he does. I won't go above 200 Celcius, and this for just a few seconds. I will not reflow it.

Re: BIOS file for HP Compaq 615
I tried it in a fast PC and indeed within 5 minutes the EEPROM was written.
So it was slow because I used a slow PC.
Now, the BIOS is ok (written, verified, 100% ok).
So, the problem must be in the Graphics chip. But. Which is the graphics chip?
Is it the one pointed by the red arrow in the photo?...

Re: BIOS file for HP Compaq 615
Maybe the flashrom is too slow?
It didn't show me any error, verification went fine (according to flashrom).
So you 're saying that most probably something went wrong with flashing?

Re: BIOS file for HP Compaq 615
I flashed it.
At first I tried your archive peste, bur it was taking too long.
I waited for half an hour and it still was writing....
I thought something 's wrong, so I tried with the file I had downloaded from hp 's site.
It also took a loooong time, but I thought maybe I should let it a bit more.
It took almost one hour!!!
I used flashrom in puppy linux live usb.
One hour!
I reassembled everything, but it stil does the same, so I guess it was not the bios...
I 'm thinking of reworking...Last edited by panoss; 04-14-2020, 08:23 AM.

Re: BIOS file for HP Compaq 615
I don't know if the bios is the problem, just from what I read in similar topics on the internet, it's very probable.
If it's not the bios then I guess something 's wrong with the graphics chip.
(I connected it to an external screen through VGA output but nothing, so I suppose the screen is not the problem)
I will do as you suggested peste, thank you!Last edited by panoss; 04-13-2020, 01:02 PM.

BIOS file for HP Compaq 615
Hi guys.
I have one (in fact two) old laptop, a Compaq 615.
When I press the button the fan spins, looks like the mobo is booting but the scrren remains blank. Caps lock blinking.
From what I read it most probably is the BIOS, so I downloaded the 3 files from HP:
1. HPQFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS (68GVV) - F.20 Dec 12, 2011
2. ROM Image for HP Notebook System BIOS (68GVV) Remote ROM Flash F.0C 2.2 MB Nov 23, 2009

BQ24297 charger IC
MT6323 Power Management IC
ARM MT8127A CPU

Re: HP Pavilion dv5-1250ev no boot - black screen
(on the laptop 's stickers I found no number like '30F2...' or '3622...')
I opened both of the .FD files with Hex Workshop and I searched with '$BID' and 'BID' (take a look at the attached image) but did not find anything....Last edited by panoss; 12-30-2019, 10:26 AM.

HP Pavilion dv5-1250ev no boot - black screen
I have an HP Pavilion dv5-1250ev which suddenly does not boot.
I press the start button, the LEDs lit but:
-the screen remains black
-CAPS lock LED and SCROLL key LED blink
I tried reset (removed battery, kept pressed the start button for 60". Nothing. Then Windows key + B + Start Butoon. Nothing. The same with V instead of B key. I removed RAM, HDD, BIOS battery. Shorted plus and minus of BIOS battery holder. Nothing)
So, after small search on the internet I conclude it 's a BIOS corruption (if not the graphics card). I have ordered a programmer...Last edited by panoss; 12-29-2019, 02:59 PM.

Dell Vostro 3350 DVD player stopped working
On the above mentioned laptop the DVD was working just fine.
I had not used it for 2-3 months and tried yesterday to use it again.
It was not working.
I suspected that it might not sit very well in the socket, so I removed it and then put it back in place. But still not working.
(BIOS and Windows do not recognise it at all)
I still suspect it's the connectors (they 're plastic) between the DVD and the motherboard.
Because they didn't fit 'too' snug.
Any idea to make them have a better contact?
(or any suggestion at all?)

LG E400 totally dead
I have the phone mentioned in the title.
Does not boot, doesn't do anything, does not react to anything.
I press the on switch, nothing. I plug in the usb charger, nothing.
Battery is charged.
The on-off switch works fine.
Visibly, no part looks burnt.
Any hint is welcome (or service manual of E400 or similar model).
