Update, it's seems that it may be something to do with charging a PS3 controller off the USB port.
Strange thing is that it's been plugged in for at least 2 months. -

I think it may be a UMC Brand, W215-189G–GB-2B-FTCDU-UK as flicking through it's online manual looks exactly the same....Leave a comment:

My DVD combi has decided that it doesn't want to come out of standby, I've tried with both the remote and the buttons on the side, switched off and unplugged over night but has made no difference.
I'm guessing from looking at other threads that it may be a problem with capacitors but I don't know where to start to be brutally honest.
Good news is I do own a Multimeter thankfully and insulated tools (VDE 1000V) and I know a few people who are very good at soldering.

Hi everyone, I'm Edwin and I'm British and I'm pretty much as close to a complete noob as you can get, I did a BTEC 1st diploma which had electronic fundamentals included, I also did GCSE electronics at school but I finished the BTEC in 2004 so it's been a long time since touching anything below 240V.Leave a comment:
