Thanks for the suggestions and it worked.The issues seems to be the LAN circuitry.I have not fully investigated it but disabling it from the bios seems to fix the issue with starting up.Now it starts as usual but without lan.The laptop still has issues with the power somewhere as sometimes does not start and reports issues with the board (6 white blinks) but if i leave the power cable connected it starts ok after a while.... -
The laptop keeps stalling in the same place.
This happened after a bios update.
It does not freeze,but it looks like it waits for a signal or something is returning an error but does not ouput it.
I've tried to remove everything removable and replace the ram aswell.I don't have a GPU to test with another one,but this one at least outputs video...

Hi,
I have a zbook 17 g5 that is stuck in bios post.It reacts if i press f1,f2,esc and writes in the lower left corner the option chosen but nothing happens.I guess it's a bios error.
Can anyone help me fix this ?
i have the dumps here from bios and EC

Found the culprit after buying a new display and still not working....
Apparently a mosfet was acting bad and was lowering the output voltage for the display power supply.It seemed odd that on lower size displays sometimes i would get some lines and dots without backlight but the LED power supply was ok.The problem was on the LCD_VCC as it was varrying around 2.8-2.95 and was just beneath the treshold for working.I found out that it needed at least 3v to power on and 3v3 to work normaly.I did not think that such a small difference...Leave a comment:

Tried that...won't start.Probably the algorithm for power on includes lid checking.Also tried to put a magnet on the hall sensor after powering on but still same result.Keeping the magnet on tha sensor,after uefi boot will trigger the sleep function....
I want to turn this board in a "mini pc" as it's not worth it to replace all the external defective parts...keyboard,display,case,trackpad and battery...
I think this is the first time i find a laptop that will not accept a lower size of display iven...Leave a comment:

ok,i tried to reroute the signal but still no image.I have managed to put an ssd with windows on it and acces to internet and after a while it automaticaly installed the video driver and got an image on hdmi.tested out the laptop and everything seems ok except the iGPU that states it can't start.i suppose that happens because it can't "detect" any internal display.
if anyone managed ever to convince the iGPU to accept a different display than the one installed from the factory,point me to an explanation so i could...Leave a comment:

I have an Asus FX705DT that had waterdamage....a lot
I have managed to make the motherboard look like working but i stil have some issues and maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
The laptop has a destroyed keyboard and the display is dead but i have managed to make the board start up and work "normal"...i have no short,power rails are looking good,hdd/ssd activity and so on.
The problem is that there is no HDMI output,only sometimes makes the tv/monitor go black screen for a brief moment,and on the internal... -

On post #5 is the dump for 9022...i have 9028.i have written it but the laptop does not start with that dump.I wrote multiple bios dump including from here,but i still suspect the ec might have a corrupted firmware on it.

Hi,
As the title implies,i have a Lenovo ThinkBook 15 G2 ARE with no display after a bios update made by windows trough optional updates.The laptop charges the battery,recognizes the charger (hopefully),starts up but has no image on screen.I have tried rewriting the bios with a few dumps i have found on the forum and outside of it but nothing changes.

i can confirm the PQ6 replacing that fixes most of the problems.after replacing the line got 3.3 exactly on it.i have replaced pq6 from another dell motherboard for parts from an older model.

for those who can't fix it easily,you can do a soft bypass but it's not great.under windows you must disable the intel ppm from registry...

i don't have a shop...i just fix laptops in my free time and learn from the process.
i have encountered similar behavior with hp before...leaving the board without power for a few hours somehow magically fixes strange issues until someone trips the issue again(bad charger,bad battery,faulty bios battery etc).but still no explanation at least to feel comfortable that i can "fix" stuff like this in the future

so today,the strangest thing happened....i have tested again with different adapters and measured the ADP_SIGNAL.with the 45w i got 19.73 with 90w i got 19.83 and when i connected the 120w one i got 0....strange.reconnected it and was 19.85 and then the laptop started working again...
now it works just fine with any adapter,battery connected or not.now how do i explain that to the client ?! i did nothing since yesterday when it was dead with any charger.

Hi,
I have a hp 250 g7 laptop with a strange issue.If the laptop is off it charges the battery but when i turn it on it "disables" the charger.If the charger is connected and the battery is connected,the charging led will change colour accordingly(orange charging,white fully charged) while the laptop is of.As soon as i press the power button,the charging status led goes off and the laptop starts on battery.The bios,linux or windows will not recognize charger,no matter the charger connected (tried 45,90 and 120w).
