Toshiba 50l1350u dead backlights
What would cause all the back lights to go bad all at once on this tv. Have good voltage from power board to leds. I have removed the back light strips and all fail to light using micrometer diode test. All positive connections on strips fail continuity test also. Lamp holder is a 6637L-0021A and led strips are 6916L-1272A, 1273A, 1276A & 1241A. I believe that replacing these will fix the tv, but just curious why all would fail at once. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Vizio M471i-a2 weird symptoms need help.
Okay while writing this up I was doing some troubleshooting. I found that if I disconnected the IR cable to MB I would get internal sound, but very flaky video. If I connected the ribbon cable while the tv is on (I know not a good idea) and then disconnected again, my video and sound worked fine. So figured it was the ir sensor or the cable. The ribbon cable is marked ir on one end and MB on the other. I flipped the cable backwards and now tv is working great so far. Getting good 3.3v on test points on main board ribbon cable and before...

Vizio M471i-a2 weird symptoms need help.
Bought this t.v. said it didn't have sound. I got it plugged in and noticed not only no sound but very laggy display. Kind of like when a computer processor is being utilized 100%. When video isn't playing the menu, apps, and t.v in general work great. A day later trying to diagnose the sound problem I hooked up some external speakers through the RCA out and the tv worked flawlessly with exception of the antenna connection. The discovered channels would come and go every second or so. The next day turned on tv with no changes made and the extreme lag had returned. No sound except through external...

Vizio e320i-b1 Multiple colored vertical lines
Got a Vizio that looks like this http://s807.photobucket.com/user/budm/media/VIZIO/Vizio%20VW42LHDTV10A/IMG_2341_zpsda892575.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 when turned on. The lines move around depending what is being displayed. I tried changing the t-con board at the offshoot that it was it. Didn't pay much for it, so I figured why not. The new T-con displayed the same, until something shorted it (me possibly) wasn't screwed down and just hanging around. Now with the bought t-con in I get backlights with no picture. The old t-con I still get vertical lines. I'm guessing the problem is in...

#6 Bad diode. Best to test them out of circuit (desolder at least one leg, or smd remove from board).Re: can anybody help me understand h...e from board).Re: can anybody help me understand how to read a diode?

Re: Newbie ripped off solder pad
I totally had anode and cathode mixed up symbol-wise. Thanks again.

Re: Newbie ripped off solder pad
Thank you for the reply. Soldered to the resistor and fired it up through my dim bulb tester. No shorts. Plugged it in and working.
Thank You.

Newbie ripped off solder pad
Putting repair kit in an Emerson A17F8MPW-001 power supply and I pulled off the pad for the cathode side of diode d10. Is there anywhere I can bridge this to? Not very good at reading board traces yet. The board does show D610A (guessing alternate??) Here are some pics and I believe the schematic. I believe that it goes to ground, so I should just be able to bridge it to a ground??...

Re: Vizio E320i-a0 no backlights, flashlight test good.
Thanks for the reply. I have removed the strips, but was unsure of how to test them since the voltage was that high. I guess next time I could just use a 24v power supply and see if i get any light from the leds? I have a new set ordered from Ebay for 12 bucks. Says they are tested good, so we'll see.
Thanks again.Re: Vizio E320i-a0 no backlights, flashlight test good.

Sorry I haven't got back to this quicker. Been busy and finally got a meter. Voltage tests are as followed:
all pins top to bottom and left to right. Color coded.
Yellow DC in
Power off: (standby)
pin #1 - 23.92v
pin #2 - 23.92v
pin #3 - 0.0v \ continuity to ground
pin #4 - 0.0v \ continuity to ground
Power on:
Same as power off (standby)

Vizio E320i-a0 no backlights, flashlight test good.
Please bare with me. I'm very much a novice at this kind of thing. Only swapped out some leaky caps on some lcd monitors in the past. Bought this tv cheap. Figured it would be pretty easy to diagnose. TV powers on, but no visible display. Using the flashlight trick I can see the Vizio setup menu. Don't have a DMM yet, but it is on the way. I'm curious if someone could point me in the right directions on how to measure the voltages both coming from the power board and the voltages on the main board. I somewhat understand what to look for, but the lack of pins coming from the power has me unsure...
