Re: Sharp LC-60LE830U
Thanks Nuala, I had information on the light codes, I was actually referring to the image I posted that listed the reference codes of the monitor error.

Re: Sharp LC-60LE830U
Ok did it! I did two things and don't know which one did it. Went to the menu again and using the channel down button on the tv went down to lamp error reset. Turned it on, then took the tv remote control and pressed the "OK/Enter" button. Then turned the TV off. I then unplugged the TV and held down channel up and vol down while plugging in the TV power. No error light!
I'm still a little curious on the lamp error listings. The image above also had monitor error causes. Anyone have any insight to those? I have these high hopes and super...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE830U
Alright guys, I installed the new PSU and lamp error is still going 1-1, but i bypass it with vol down, input, power, and it works! I've been trying to figure out how to reset the lamp error. I've gotten to the menu by holding channel down & vol down, here's the picture below, let me know if it says anything else unusual. There's an on/off choice on the second page of the menu for "Lamp Error Reset" I've tried to turn that on and then power the tv off but it doesn't reset the lamp error. Any suggestions?...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE830U
Ordered a new PSU and it's on its way. Opted not to go eBay route bc of another thread suggesting possible bad inverters on the cheap boards. When I install the new PSU, will I need to reset anything or will it just plug and play?

Re: Sharp LC-60LE830U
Ok gave it a go. And didn't get any response in the voltmeter. No beeps. This was testing the black and blue wires when the PSU was detached, but that shouldn't make a difference right?

Got it. I missed that last post before I posted an updated image. I'll have results in the morning.

Re: Sharp LC-60LE830U
Here's a better pic. I actually removed the board. Not sure how to get to the end of those wires, but I'll do some digging.
Regardless, I'm going to have to buy a new PSU right?...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE830U
Hey freakaftr8,
Thanks for the reply! Sorry, just to clarify, I need to ohm the blue and black wires for ground shorts. I'm out of the house, but from this pic I took on the phone (sorry it's blurry), there's only one black and one blue that is part of like a 7-8 pin connector? just above the transformer that went bad? bottom left in the picture. Is that right?...

Sharp LC-60LE830U
Hey all,
I wanted to move my issue to a new thread per recommendation. The initial issue was raised here... https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=32014&page=3
Would love some help! I'm assuming I need to order a new PS board now? I unplugged the power after the pop and smoke, but I want to say that the tv was still doing a 1short/1long error code. I was kind of paranoid and didn't want to make things worse.Hey all,

Hey Fwrothy!
Thanks so much for the reply. Didn't sound preachy at all. Since I was a new member I couldn't start a new thread, but had totally thought about it. Definitely understand the Christmas light analogy.
It was still the one fast one slow error code.

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-60LE810UN troubleshooting
ok new development. plugged it in with the back panel open and tried the vol down, input, power a couple times. first time didn't seem like the screen light up much, second time looks like the whole screen lit up. Third time (a charm!...and not really), for the first time the tv actually came on, I saw snow, and it looked like it when into K mode only until I heard a "pop-sizzle" and a bit of smoke. Awesome. Interestingly enough the error code remained 1-1. I'm guessing now I definitely need a new PS board? In the pic I posted...Last edited by micahg; 03-10-2014, 06:00 PM.

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-60LE810UN troubleshooting
I've now got a fluke multimeter in my possession. This is what I'm staring at right now. what should my next step be? I tried to do a little research and i think my particular set 60LE830U is a full array, is that right? I couldn't find any tutorial on how to actually get to the LEDs...

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-60LE810UN troubleshooting
Pretty hard to tell because it's so fast. The right side seemed normal. Couldn't quite see the left side. Reading through the forums I know it's possible to test the LEDs but also sounds like a lot of them. What do you think my best step should be?
Also, really appreciate you guys. Nice to know I've got people to walk along side me with this!

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-60LE810UN troubleshooting
Hey guys,
I've been reading threw this thread hoping I could find some nuggets. I've got a 60le830U that just coded 1-1. I'm a complete novice when it comes to this stuff. I'm not afraid to take things apart, but my hope was it would be a simple unplug some ribbons, buy a new board, plug it in, and put the housing back on. I called the local service shop and they are quoting me $110 just to look at it and could go all the way up to $500 for parts and labor.
When I did Vol down, Iput, Power button it would come out...
