If you mean the graphics chip problem then yes it is an 8xxx series chip and they tend to run quite hot and will fail eventually it is a well known problem with 8xxx series even doing the copper shim trick does not seem to work because they run so hot that is the problem i have encountered with most 8xxx series graphic chips. -
Compaq f700
Have a strange problem with this laptop it will power on get to the option screen with the hp logo then it will shut down and power back up gets to the same screen and powers down again it will do this about 3 or 4 times then boot to what ever is in the dvd drive or the hard drive is this problem related to the nvidia gpu solder connections

Hey ratdude747 that adapter you were talking about is it for socket 370 if so i have one here in front of me if you want it it is yours and it will cost you nothing it has a celeron sl5vr in it i got this years ago for some work i had done for someone,just pm me with your address and i will send it to you,it is of no use to me and if you can use it great.Leave a comment:

Yes that is the correct location but take great caution the flyback voltage is about 12000 volts, if you are not sure on what to do take it to someone who knows like a tv repair shop,again be very careful.Leave a comment:
