Re: Sony CCD-V90E analogue camcorder - any bad caps?
Yeh I suppose that's possible. I'll reassemble it tomorrow and see if it plays back on the TV.

Re: Sony CCD-V90E analogue camcorder - any bad caps?
Hi ben7,
I only quickly checked it before I pulled it apart but the symptom was basically that the video playback in the viewfinder had the bottom 20 percent missing, with a very unstable white band tearing and fluctuating with bright flashing at the bottom. A 20 second head clean with a dry cleaner had no effect. The same cassette in another player worked fine.

Sony CCD-V90E analogue camcorder - any bad caps?
Hi all,
Does anybody have any experience with these old Sony camcorders.
I understand that Sony had a bad run with electrolytic capacitors fitted to many of their camcorder models. I opened this one up today expecting to see the tell tale signs of swollen and leaky caps, but I didn't find any with obvious physical symptoms....

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello fellow members, I am at that stage in my life when preserving memories in the form of old analogue 8 mm video tape has become more of a priority. I'm hoping that some of you may be able to help me fix an old Sony CCD-V90E camcorder by identifying which capacitors should be replaced.
