Re: Vizio P42HDTV10A 50" Plasma
They looked good with a very quick inspection. I only noticed them because of the heatsink with thermal compound that covers them. I'll take a closer look today.
I'm also getting very odd readings from the Vs Va tests. My meter tests good with a wall-wart power supply (3.3v on the dot) but when i test the panel im getting voltages in the near 600-700. That cant be possible, this thing would be on fire right about now....

Vizio P42HDTV10A 50" Plasma
When i first turned on the unit, there was a vertical black bar with a single green line in it. Upon further investigation there is water damage to the lower XR buffer board and the board is missing pins, most likely causing the vertical black bars. Loud buzzing coming from ZSUS as well.
Ordered a new XR board and it arrived with some bent pins, but i threw it in anyway to see if the black bar would go away since the bent pins were not in the area of the original issue. The ZSUS no longer buzzes with the replacement board in. Its looking like the panel is done since the original...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello! I recently started repairing broken LCDs that were in the "to donate" pile at my office. All of them were easy fixes with bad caps! I never realized plugging your electronics into a power strip really does make an impact.
Just picked up my first broken plasma HDTV and have already diagnosed a bad buffer board just from these forums alone! Would love to post my own repair thread to help others (as well as myself), but it looks like i had to come here to introduce myself first
