Yes,
Thank you!

I'm pretty good with hardware.
But lost otherwise. The online instructions being wrong didn't help.
If it didn't pretty much fix it's self I would have no idea.

I had nothing to lose and just blindly tried everything.

I'm sure some searches will find this fix.
That's what I do....

Maybe this can help some one else.

Go to:http://m.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/SharpCareCenter/DownloadFiles.aspx?modelnum=LC-42SV50U&print=true

Save this file to usb device. "Firmware for LC-42SV50U"
Does not seem to be zipped or PW protected.

Don't follow these directions:https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/f2a707a3c82a3d35db3226ac1ee02094.pdf

Plug device with saved file into tv usb port.
Plug in tv.
Turn on...

Thank you,

Here is main board with cover off.

I'm thinking it's sw issue or needs reset, as power supply comes on.

I haven't checked supply with scope yet. I suppose the +5 supply could be noisy after start-up.

Part out of stock all over. 9JY0142CTK04101...

• Sharp LC 42SV50U green lite

Sharp LC 42SV50U tv displays red lite.
Powers up.
Green lite comes on steady.

No back lite or display.

Will not power down. ie. green lite stays on.

Power supply seems ok.
Back lite works when forced with blon held high.

Any ideas?
Link to service info or diagram?
Reset procedure?

ps.
Set may be new!

started a topic LG 47LB5D shuts down

LG 47LB5D shuts down

Board EAX36781601A-F

I'll buy a board if I can find one.

This is my own set, so I don't want to give up on it.
It failed while unattended. Hot smell and dead.

The two big caps were bad. Low value/ high esr.

Inverter MOSFETS shorted.
PS MOSFETS shorted.

4 diode packs shorted.

After that set would run but PS MOSFET and Transformer ran hot.

Quit completely after overheating.

Last thing I found was 3 1uf/50 volt caps bad. Weird as they were all different brands....

• Re: EAY36781302 PSU Partial power

Yes it's parallel to the .33 ohm source resistor.

Static voltage will be under a volt, so I didn't see the need for it being a zener.

Possibly the ac component needs clamping at some level. I have a 6.2 in there now.

Tv works but the MOSFET overheats. As does the transformer.

I'm at a loss how to check further without service information.
I'm not even sure a new ps board will fix it. As it may be overloaded downstream....

ZD100 is in parallel with a .33ohm. So it will show shorted.

I have no idea what the function is.

However this diode is broken on my board. I need to know the zener value.

Can someone help me out?

I have changed most of the power components on the board. Including the big caps which were bad.

Q103 runs hot.(replaced)
T201 runs hot.
D204 was shorted and has been replaced.

Tv worked fine after...
